Wheelchair occupant restraint device
A wheelchair occupant restraint device includes: a wheelchair retractor which is disposed in a vehicle cabin, and around which one end portion of a wheelchair belt member is wound; a wheelchair buckle which is disposed on the opposite side of a securing space for a wheelchair from the wheelchair retractor, and on which a wheelchair tongue plate attached to the other end portion of the wheelchair belt member is able to be mounted; an occupant retractor which is disposed on the opposite side of the securing space from the wheelchair retractor, and around which one end portion of an occupant belt member is wound; and an occupant buckle which is disposed on the opposite side of the securing space from the occupant retractor, and on which an occupant tongue plate attached to the other end portion of the occupant belt member is able to be mounted.
TRANSPORT OF PASSENGERS WITH REDUCED MOBILITY
A restraining device for restraining a wheelchair in a cabin area on board of an aircraft. The device comprises a beam-like base structure being elongate in a beam extension direction, at least two floor connectors attached to the base structure and at least one restraining connector attached to the base structure. The floor connectors are spaced apart from each other in the beam extension direction. The floor connectors are configured to temporarily mount the base structure to a seat rail floor support in an aircraft cabin. The restraining connectors are configured to be temporarily connected to a structural part of the wheelchair to hold the wheelchair in place with a passenger seated therein.
Retractor restraint system and related methods, such as for securing wheelchairs in vehicles
A retractor restraint system is provided for securing wheelchairs and/or people in vehicles. The system includes a housing, a retractor reel mounted to the housing rotatably in a positive and a negative direction of rotation for receiving a belt which can be coupled to a wheelchair, an arresting unit for arresting the reel to prevent rotation in the negative direction of rotation in an operating state of the retractor restraint system, a clamping unit arranged at the housing for releasably clamping fast the belt unwound from the reel, and a triggering mechanism for actuation of the clamping unit. The triggering mechanism is coupled to the arresting unit and the reel in such a way that the clamping unit is actuated when a torque acts on the reel in the negative direction of rotation and the reel is arrested by the arresting unit.
Litter lift system
A litter lift system includes a motor-driven winch and a lifting strap. The motor-driven winch includes a rotatable spool. The lifting strap has one end coupled to the rotatable spool and is movable in response to rotation of the rotatable spool. The lifting strap has a first lifting segment and a second lifting segment positioned away from the end of the lifting strap coupled to the rotatable spool. The first lifting segment and the second lifting segment are each forked to define two separate lifting loops. Rotation of the rotatable spool in a first direction raises the first lifting segment and the second lifting segment. Rotation of the rotatable spool in a second direction different from the first direction lowers the first lifting segment and the second lifting segment.
MOBILITY CARRIER APPARATUS FOR VEHICLES
A mobility carrier apparatus for vehicles includes: a carrier to store a mobility, and the carrier is not exposed at ordinary times and withdrawn when it is desired to use the mobility, thereby improving the external design of a vehicle and convenience of the vehicle. In particular, the carrier slides along a pair of sliding rails so as to be withdrawn from or stored in a case of the mobility carrier apparatus, and the carrier is provided with a storage unit in which the mobility is loaded. The mobility is lifted upwards at the time of withdrawal of the carrier.
PANEL DESIGNED TO ENGAGE WHEELS OF WHEELCHAIR
An assembly for a vehicle includes a panel. The panel includes a first channel and a second channel spaced from and parallel to each other. The first and second channels are designed to engage wheels of a wheelchair. The assembly includes a latch supported by the panel. The latch is moveable between an unlatched position and a latched position. The latch is retracted from the first channel in the unlatched position and elongated across the first channel in the latched position. The panel includes releasable connections designed to releasably engage a vehicle floor.
WHEELCHAIR SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE
A wheelchair system may include vehicles including docking systems for a wheelchair. The wheelchair and the docking system may be coupled to controllers in communication with one another via a secure communication channel. A user may use a computing device to send signals to and receive signals from the controllers and a data processing system to select the docking system to which the wheelchair may be secured.
Mobility restraint device tensioner
A tensioning device is provided for tensioning a retractor in a wheelchair securement system. The tensioning device may include a clutch assembly for communicating rotational movement of a handle to a drive shaft operably connected to the spool of the retractor. The clutch assembly may include a pawl operably connected to the handle, which pawl communicates rotational movement of the handle to a drive sprocket. The clutch assembly may also include a friction member which communicates rotation of the drive sprocket to the drive shaft up to a predetermined amount of rotational force. If the rotational force exceeds the predetermined amount, the friction member will slip and cease to transfer rotational movement from the drive sprocket to the drive shaft. The clutch assembly may also include a compression member for compressing the friction member and drive sprocket whereby the predetermined amount of force may be adjusted.
METHOD OF MODIFYING A MOTORIZED VEHICLE FOR WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY AND SYSTEM THEREOF
A hybrid passenger vehicle includes a chassis supported by at least one front wheel and at least one rear wheel, a body coupled to the chassis including at least one door, and a vehicle floor coupled to the chassis. The body defines an interior space configured to be occupied by at least one passenger when operating the vehicle, and the vehicle floor has a front end and a rear end. A rear wall is coupled to the rear end of the vehicle floor such that the rear wall defines a rearmost boundary of the vehicle floor. A rear suspension assembly is coupled to the chassis. The rear wall is arc-shaped, and the rear suspension assembly is located rearward of the rear wall.
MODULAR MOTOR VEHICLE INTEGRATED CARRIER RACK AND STORAGE SYSTEM WITH UNIVERSAL CONNECTIONS
A unified carrier cargo rack and storage system for a vehicle including a receiver unit installed in the rear of the vehicle and a modular carrier rack, including a transitional carrier bar, a secondary bar and a cargo carrier bar, wherein the cargo carrier bar is further operable to engage and immobilize cargo; are disclosed as are male and female securing mechanisms.
