MEMBRANE DISTILLATION DEVICE WITH BUBBLE COLUMN DEHUMIDIFIER
A desalination device may comprise: a membrane distillation module comprising a water feed chamber, a carrier gas (CG) chamber, and a hydrophobic microporous membrane configured to separate the water feed chamber and the CG chamber; and a bubble column dehumidifier comprising a bubble column inlet, a bubble column gas outlet, and a product outlet, wherein the MD module allows water vapor to translocate to the CG chamber, but not liquid water, and wherein the water feed each chamber has comprises a water feed inlet and a water feed outlet, wherein the CG chamber comprises a CG chamber inlet and CG chamber outlet, wherein the CG chamber outlet is upstream of and connected to the bubble column dehumidifier, and wherein the CG chamber inlet is downstream of and connected to the bubble column dehumidifier so as to cycle a carrier gas through the CG chamber and the bubble column dehumidifier.
SELF-CLEANING DECENTRALIZED WATER TREATMENT UNIT
A decentralized water treatment unit is for purifying untreated water to purified water for human consumption. The unit includes i) a filtration module, having at least one filtration membrane configured to, during a filtration cycle, purify the untreated water; and ii) a cleaning module, having an electrolytic cell configured to, during a generation cycle, generate a cleaning solution of predetermined composition from a chloride starting solution. The cleaning module is further configured to, during a cleaning cycle, pump the cleaning solution through the filtration module to clean the at least one filtration membrane.
METHOD FOR PERMEATE FLOW PATH SANITIZATION IN A REVERSE OSMOSIS SYSTEM
The disclosure pertains to sanitizing the permeate flow path of a reverse osmosis system. A method of sanitizing a filtration system is disclosed that can include injecting a biocide into a permeate compartment of an operating reverse osmosis system. The method can also include maintaining pressure in a concentrate compartment of the reverse osmosis system simultaneously while injecting the biocide.
Water purification device
A device (1) for purification of water driven by gravity through a purification unit between an upper dirt water container (2) and a lower clean water tank (3). A backwash system may be integrated, the system comprising a receptacle (8) for accumulation of the backwash water to prevent consumption thereof by mistake.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ACOUSTICALLY-ENHANCED MEMBRANE SEPARATION
Systems and methods for acoustically-enhanced membrane separation are described. The system may generally include a separation membrane and an acoustically-responsive structure positioned proximate the upstream side of the separation membrane. The system may further include a transducer for generating an acoustic field, wherein the acoustic field causes microstructures extending from the acoustically-responsive structure to oscillate and thereby create streaming effects in the region between the distal ends of the microstructures and the upstream side of the separation membrane. These streaming effects can prevent or remove separation membrane fouling, prevent the formation of cake layers on the separation membrane, and/or remove cake layer formed on a separation membrane.
FILTRATION UNIT
A filtration unit for purifying or treating fluid that includes one or more membrane units having a permeate section. The permeate section of the membrane units is fed fluid that passes through a sealing insert having a fluid inlet and a passage that discharges in fluid communication with the permeate section. The sealing insert is arranged in a support frame of the membrane unit to form a fluid channel for delivering fluid through the insert and along an outer perimeter surface that maintains performance of the membrane unit during operation.
Water treatment system and water treatment method
A water treatment system according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a tank that stores water to be treated, a crossflow filtration membrane module that filters the water to be treated, a supply passage through which the water to be treated is supplied from the tank to the filtration membrane module by using a supply pump, and a recirculation passage through which the water to be treated, the water having passed through a membrane upstream side of the filtration membrane module, is recirculated to the tank. The tank has an upper space above a liquid surface of the stored water to be treated, the upper space being hermetically filled with an inert gas. The water treatment system further includes a gas transport passage through which the inert gas is introduced from the upper space into the supply passage or the filtration membrane module, and a compressor that is disposed in the gas transport passage and that pressurizes the inert gas. The compressor is preferably a water-sealed compressor.
FILTRATION APPARATUS
Various embodiments relate generally to a filtration apparatus. The filtration apparatus may include a filtration module having an inner longitudinal chamber and an outer annular chamber surrounding the inner longitudinal chamber. The filtration module may further include a base module coupled to an end of the filtration module, and an integrated check valve module coupled to a corresponding end of the inner longitudinal chamber of the filtration module through the base module. The base module and the integrated check valve module may be configured to define an annular base chamber adjacent to a corresponding end of the outer annular chamber of the filtration module. The integrated check valve module may include a housing having a first port for external fluid communication, a second port to interface with the annular base chamber and a third port to interface with the inner longitudinal chamber.
SUBSEA EQUIPMENT CLEANING SYSTEM AND METHOD
The invention concerns a subsea water processing system comprising an electrochemical unit that uses raw or treated seawater to generate high pH and low pH solutions that are used to clean at least one subsea process apparatus during a cleaning cycle by circulation through the at least one subsea process apparatus via acid or base flow lines connecting the electrochemical unit with the subsea process apparatus on-site.
