Systems for water blending control
A reverse osmosis water system including a housing, a reverse osmosis cartridge, an unfiltered waterline, and a blend waterline. The housing includes an inlet and an outlet. A medial waterline transports pretreated water to the reverse osmosis cartridge. An unfiltered waterline includes a flow restrictor. A blend waterline transports a blended water mixture to the outlet. The blended waterline receives filtered water at a first flowrate from the medial waterline and unfiltered water at a second flowrate downstream of the flow restrictor. The flow restrictor provides the second flowrate at a substantially equal rate to the first flowrate.
CARTRIDGES AND SYSTEMS FOR OUTSIDE-IN FLOW IN MEMBRANE-BASED THERAPIES
Embodiments of the invention pertain to cartridges, systems and methods for performing hemodialysis and related extracorporeal blood treatment modalities and therapies, in which blood flows in the inter fiber space and dialysate flows in the lumens of hollow fibers. Appropriate connectors and fitting orientations may be provided. There may be provided orbital distributors, fanning of fibers, and features to promote uniformity of fiber spacing in the fiber bundle. Orbital distributors may contain contoured surfaces, flow redirectors, non-uniform-conductance flow elements, through-wall distributors, and other features. There may be subdivision of the fiber bundle into two groups of fibers with separate control fluid to each group. Appropriate systems may be provided for various therapies. Flow past the fibers may be parallel, transverse or other configuration. These various features may enable long-term application to all dialysis and ultrafiltration related therapies, and also to other therapies and to applications including implantables, portables and wearables.
Water Purification System And Method
A method of purifying tap water to produce deionized type 2 pure water on a laboratory scale with a volume of up to 300 l/h using a water purification system, the method including detecting the permeate flow rate produced by a reverse-osmosis device downstream of a permeate outlet; detecting the flow rate of retentate flow that is removed from the system downstream of a first flow rate regulator; and remote controlling the first and a second flow rate regulators based on the detection results from first and second flow meters such that a predetermined target recovery rate and a predetermined target permeate flow rate are controlled.

Method And System For Internal Permeate Processing In Reverse Osmosis Membranes
A reverse osmosis system includes a multi-element membrane array having membrane elements disposed in series. Permeate pipes receive permeate from respective membrane elements. The connectors coupling the permeate pipes have a flow restrictor. The restrictors have an effective area that increases in subsequent connectors. The body has an outer wall and an orifice plug within a longitudinal passage. The orifice plug is separates from the body. Each orifice plug has a carrier body with a plug passage therethrough. Each carrier body has an orifice plate having an orifice disposed within the plug passage and a spring disposed within the carrier body resisting movement of the orifice plate, whereby movement of the orifice plate changes an amount of fluid flowing through each connector. Each spring in subsequent connectors provides a reduced amount of spring force for resisting movement of the orifice plate.
Systems and Methods for Water Blending Control
Some embodiments of the invention provide a reverse osmosis water filtration system including a housing, a pre-filter cartridge, a reverse osmosis cartridge, and a post treatment cartridge. A medial water line transports a first portion of pretreated water from the pre-filter cartridge to the reverse osmosis cartridge. An unfiltered water line includes a flow restrictor and blend valve. The unfiltered water line is fluidly coupled between the medial water line and a blend water line. The blend water line receives filtered water at a first flowrate from the reverse osmosis cartridge and unfiltered water at a second flowrate from the blend valve. The first flowrate and the second flowrate are substantially equal to produce a consistent total dissolved solids value.

Purifying target biomolecules, such as nucleic acids or proteins, from a biological source is a time intensive process and is typically performed by a skilled technician or scientist owing to the highly technical nature of the work. Systems, devices, and methods disclosed herein enable the automated bioprocessing and purification of target biomolecules from a biological source. For example, an instrument and disposable cartridge are provided for automatedly isolating and purifying nucleic acids (such as plasmid DNA from a bacterial culture) or for isolating protein from any biological sample. Such an exemplary instrument and cartridge can work in concert to timely release, mix, and move the target biomolecule and various reagents and buffers through a target biomolecule purification process, resulting in a purified target biomolecule with less manual oversight than traditional approaches.

Embodiments relate generally to a filter (110), for example, for attachment onto a gas detector device or a gas sensor, and attempt to improve the efficiency and service life of the filter (110). Embodiments typically comprise a dustproof membrane (114) and a waterproof membrane (113). Some embodiments may also comprise a splash-proof cap (130) and/or features to reduce negative pressure on the filter (110).
