Convertible wheelchair

The convertible wheelchair is similar to a conventional wheelchair, but includes a reclining back support and an additional leg support plate. As the back support is pivoted, with respect to the seat, into a reclining position, the leg support plate is driven to pivot upward. When the back support is pivoted into a fully reclining position, the seat, the back support and the leg support plate are positioned parallel and co-planar with respect to one another. Similar to a conventional wheelchair, the convertible wheelchair includes a frame, the seat, which is secured to an upper end of the frame, the back support, which is secured to a rear end of the frame and is pivotally coupled to the seat, a pair of rear wheels rotatably secured to the rear end of the frame, and a pair of front wheels rotatably secured to the front end of the frame.

Dynamic furniture for supporting a seated or reclining user includes a base, an actuator assembly supported by the base, a front boom in circular orbital connection to a portion of the base, a rear boom in circular orbital connection to another portion of the base, a seat platform supported by the actuator assembly, and a back platform supported by the actuator assembly. The seat platform and the back platform are capable of remaining stationary relative to the actuator assembly while the actuator assembly moves relative to the base. The seat platform and the back platform are also capable of moving relative to the actuator assembly while the actuator assembly remains stationary relative to the base. The seat platform and the back platform are also capable of moving relative to the actuator assembly while the actuator assembly moves relative to the base.

Patient examination system

A patient examination system including a frame assembly, one or more motion-controlling assemblies connected to the frame assembly for moving one or more selected movable portions of the frame assembly, and a patient support assembly. The patient support assembly includes a seat subassembly including a seat cushion, a back subassembly, a footrest subassembly including a footrest cushion, and a cover element covering a top side of the seat cushion and an external side of the footrest cushion. The cover element has an exposed surface for engagement with the patient. The seat subassembly includes the seat cushion and is secured to the upper element of the frame assembly. The frame assembly is configured to support the seat subassembly relative to the floor in a lowered position thereof, in a raised position thereof, in intermediate seat positions therebetween, and in Trendelenburg positions.

Person support apparatuses with selectively coupled foot sections

Person support apparatuses are disclosed. In one embodiment, a person support apparatus comprises a base frame and a primary support frame supported on the base frame. A carriage is freely translatable at least between a head end of the primary support frame and a foot end of the primary support frame. A support surface is supported on the carriage such that the support surface translates with the carriage. The support surface includes a support section which is collapsible in a length direction of the support surface. The support section may include an air bladder and a control valve fluidly coupled to the air bladder that regulates air pressure within the air bladder. The control valve has a normally closed position and a vent position, wherein the person support apparatus comprises an exercise configuration wherein the control valve is in the vent position and the air bladder is vented to atmosphere.

CHAIR-TO-TABLE PROCEDURE APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR REVERSIBLE USE

One embodiment of the present invention is directed to a convertible chair-to-table apparatus configured for reversible use. The apparatus may have a headrest on the leg board of the chair to enable a patient to use the chair with the patient's torso on the leg board. The invention is also directed to a method of using the apparatus by moving a patient's torso between the leg board and the back board of the apparatus.

Integrated-bed mattress and integrated bed

A mattress can be adapted to an integrated bed that includes a main bed unit, and a wheelchair unit that is separable from the main bed unit and has a wheelchair back bottom, a wheelchair hip bottom and a wheelchair foot bottom. The mattress includes a first protrusion configured to be fastened to a back-section hole in the wheelchair back bottom, a fastener configured to be fastened to the wheelchair hip bottom, and a second protrusion configured to be fastened to a foot-section hole in the wheelchair foot bottom.

The invention discloses a care bed including a bed frame and a wheelchair. A head panel, a tail panel, a foldable first lateral connecting portion and a second lateral connecting portion of the bed frame constitute an accommodating space of the bed frame. The bed frame has a notch formed at the folded first lateral connecting portion. The wheelchair is moved by the carriage base into the accommodating space through the notch. The backrest, the first armrest, the second armrest, the leg-rest and the footrest of the wheelchair are regulated into a co-plane with the seat to constitute a mattress. The mattress fits the accommodating space of the bed frame.

Patient support apparatuses with dynamic control panels

A patient support apparatus, such as a bed, cot, recliner, operating table, stretcher, or the like, includes a control panel with multiple controls for controlling functions of the patient support apparatus. A control system disables at least a first control and changes an illumination state of a backlight when the patient support apparatus is in a particular state. In some embodiments, the particular state is the arming of an exit detection system and/or the deactivation of a brake on the patient support apparatus. The particular state may also or alternatively be tied to a particular mode of the patient support apparatus, such as a diagnostic mode, a maintenance mode, and/or a normal mode. The control system may also never illuminate a first icon on the patient support apparatus if it was initially configured in a particular manner, such as being intended for sale in a particular geographic market.

Transport apparatus

A first transport apparatus includes a deck for supporting a patient thereon and a lift mechanism supporting the deck. The deck is removable from the lift mechanism for use as a second transport apparatus or part of a second transport apparatus. The first transport apparatus further includes an electrically powered device at the first transport apparatus, and a user input device for wireless control of the electrically powered device, which is operable at or near the first transport apparatus and the second transport apparatus.
