The handmade pot is scanned to obtain the geometric data of the handmade pot with the imperfections. The geometric data is converted to mold tooling geometric data with the imperfections. The mold tooling is manufactured with imperfections. A pot is molded with imperfections from the mold tooling.

A pot with a base is pivotally connected to, and supported upon a saucer. A cam surface is provided between the saucer and the pot so that rotation of the pot in a first rotary direction relative to the saucer extends the pot from the saucer, and rotation of the pot in a second rotary direction relative to the saucer retracts the pot to the saucer.

A method of increasing interspace among plant containers. The method comprises: providing a set of plant containers, the set comprising first and second plant containers; arranging the first plant containers in a first structured grid formation along a horizontal plane; and arranging the second plant containers in a second structured grid formation along said horizontal plane, whereby when viewed from above the first and second plant containers are alternatingly arranged in a joint structured grid formation in a first area. A vertical farming apparatus comprises a frame for supporting plant troughs or pots, a base for supporting the frame, and an array of gutters supported by the frame. The array of gutters comprises an upper formation of gutters above a lower formation of gutters. Containers for housing plants are supported by and arranged to drain into a gutter in the array of gutters. An irrigation system is arranged to irrigate the containers. The lower formation of gutters is arranged in a tiered configuration such that each gutter in the lower formation is at least partially offset in a first horizontal direction from the other gutters in the lower formation and is at least partially offset in a first horizontal direction from the gutters in the upper formation. A supply system is arranged to supply gaseous carbon dioxide, air and mixtures of carbon dioxide and air to the containers interchangeably.

A method for sanitizing objects within a gardening appliance includes: positioning at least one object on a grow tower of the gardening appliance; during a sanitization cycle, rotating the grow tower such that the at least one object on the grow tower is exposed to an ultraviolet assembly of the gardening appliance; activating the ultraviolet assembly such that the at least one object on the grow tower is illuminated by ultraviolet rays from the ultraviolet assembly; and after the sanitization cycle, removing the at least one object from the grow tower. A related gardening appliance is also provided.

A self-watering tray device having an integral internal irrigation system, and a method of watering allowing water to be supplied by a garden water hose and a water faucet. A plurality of said self-watering trays capable of being daisy-chained in a serial configuration to allow a single source of water from a water faucet and a plurality of garden water hoses to provide irrigation water to all of said plurality of self-watering trays and non-self-watering planters positioned thereon.

The plant cultivation device includes: a holder including at least one plant cultivation layer; a lighting unit disposed in the at least one plant cultivation layer to allow light emitted from the lighting unit to irradiate a plant cultivated in the plant cultivation layer; an illuminance detecting unit configured to detect an illuminance in the plant cultivation layer to obtain an illuminance measurement; and a control unit configured to obtain the illuminance measurement and adjust a lighting intensity of the lighting unit according to the illuminance measurement.
