A mobility assistance apparatus includes first and second frames positioned on left and right sides of a user; a hinge arm mechanism coupled to the first and second frames; and a securing unit or a walking seat coupled to the frames to transfer at least a portion of the user's body weight from the legs and to transfer weight through the user's hip or pelvis to the first and second frame enabling the user to stand or work for an extended period without requiring the user's arms to hold the frame.

A folding wheelchair comprising a luggage compartment, a collapsible frame and wheels, the wheels being mounted to a chassis of the collapsible frame for supporting the folding wheelchair in use, the collapsible frame having a first support pivotally mounted to the chassis at a first end of the first support, the first support and chassis being configured to rotate relative to one another between a stowed position, in which the chassis and the first support are adjacent, and an erect position in which the first support extends away from the chassis to support a seat and handles for pushing the folding wheelchair.

A folding wheelchair with an excretion device has a foldable chair frame, a supporting device on the chair frame under a seat which is also foldable together with the chair frame, a wash device for cleansing and a wipe device for wiping. The folding wheelchair allows its user to perform excretion and cleansing by himself without leaving the wheelchair, saving the self-esteem for the users and reducing the burdens for the caregivers.

A rollable user-support device comprising a rigid frame with first legs and second legs, each with a rollable and swivelable wheel, a seat with a seat folding mechanism and/or a seat manipulation mechanism. The seat manipulation mechanism can be operable to move the seat, with a user seated thereon, between a lower rearward seating position and an elevated forward seating position, and the seat folding mechanism can be operable to move the seat between the elevated forward seating position and a folded position, at least one of the devices being connected to a swivel prevention mechanism associated with the first wheels. A swing arm assembly for a foldable wheelchair consisting of a camber tube and adapters is disclosed. The adapters mount to the frame of the wheelchair and receive the ends of the camber tube. One end of the camber tube is pinned into an adapter such that it pivots. The other end is pinned in an adapter using a quick release pin. The camber tube improves the stability of the foldable wheelchair. When desired to fold the wheelchair, the quick release pin is removed and the camber tube is rotated approximately 90 degrees, thereby allowing the wheelchair to fold. The adapters may be mounted to the wheelchair frame or to stub axles if used. The swing arm assembly adds substantial stiffness and stability to a folding wheelchair.

Apparatus and associated methods relate to a removable power assist for converting a manual wheelchair into an electronic wheelchair, based on configuring a friction roller to releasably engage with a wheelchair wheel, configuring the friction roller when engaged to drive the wheel through a contact surface with the wheel that may be positioned under the wheelchair seating area, or to the side of the wheelchair seating area, or to the underside of an armrest, or in front of a wheelchair wheel, configuring a motor to rotate the friction roller, and moving the wheelchair based on engaging the friction roller and activating the motor to turn the wheel through force by the friction roller against the contact surface with the wheel. Some designs include a lever configured to permit a user seated in the wheelchair to engage or disengage the friction roller. Configuring the friction roller under the wheelchair seating area, or to the side of the wheelchair seating area, or to the underside of an armrest, or in front of a wheelchair wheel may permit wheelchair folding or unfolding without uninstalling the power assist.
