ADVANCED WHEELCHAIR
20230056464 · 2023-02-23 ·

An advanced manually propelled wheelchair (100) is described. The wheelchair (100) has a chassis (110). In certain examples this may be a single piece design. The wheelchair (100) may further have one or more of a load adjustment mechanism (150) and a power-assist mechanism. The load adjustment mechanism (150) is configured to adjust a position of a set of rear wheels (120) for the wheelchair (100) relative to a loading of the wheelchair (100). Load adjustment may be performed based on a sensed loading. The power-assist mechanism provides a powered torque to a set of front wheels (130) to help a user propel the wheelchair (100) or to stabilise the wheelchair (100) during use. The power-assist mechanism may be provided as a set of modular front wheel units.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CLASSIFYING ELECTROENCEPHALOGRAM SIGNAL, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRAINING CLASSIFICATION MODEL, AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM

A method and an apparatus for classifying an electroencephalogram signal, a device and a computer-readable storage medium. The method includes: obtaining an electroencephalogram signal; performing feature extraction on the electroencephalogram signal to obtain a signal feature corresponding to the electroencephalogram signal; obtaining a difference distribution ratio, the difference distribution ratio being used for representing impacts of difference distributions of different types on distributions of the signal feature and a source domain feature in a feature domain, the source domain feature being a feature corresponding to a source domain electroencephalogram signal; aligning the signal feature with the source domain feature according to the difference distribution ratio to obtain an aligned signal feature; and classifying the aligned signal feature to obtain a motor imagery type corresponding to the electroencephalogram signal.

Seat Lift With Non-Linear Spring Assist
20230058230 · 2023-02-23 ·

The present invention provides an assembly having a wheelchair and a lift assembly to urge the seat surface upward with respect to the frame from a lowered position when supporting a seated individual during use to an elevated position with respect to the frame as to assist the individual during ingress or egress to or from the wheelchair. The lift assembly may include a mechanical linkage and an actuator assembly. The actuator assembly produced a nonlinear lift force having a first period exhibiting a first rate of amplitude increase when the seating surface is nearer the lowered position and a second period exhibiting a second rate of amplitude change that is less than the first rate of amplitude increase when the seating surface is nearer the elevated position.

SANITIZING FENDER FOR A WHEELCHAIR
20220362414 · 2022-11-17 ·

A fender for sanitizing wheels of a wheelchair including a support frame and a fender housing. The support frame includes a mounting bracket for mounting the support frame on a vertical frame on the rear portion of the wheelchair. The fender housing is removably mounted on the support frame. The fender housing includes a plurality of Ultraviolet-C (UVC) light sources powered by a re-chargeable battery and a driver circuit. The plurality of UVC light sources are configured to sanitize a surface of a wheel of the wheelchair by virtue of illumination of surface of the wheel during rotation of the wheel.

CONFIGURABLE POWER WHEELCHAIR SYSTEMS AND METHODS

In one embodiment, a control system for a power wheelchair is provided allowing a user to change the type of input control device throughout a day, week, month, and/or year as their physical and/or mental condition changes. This includes changing input controls from proportional to switch-type devices. A user may start the day when they are not tired with a proportional input control device like a proportional joystick. Then, as the day progresses and the user begins to experience fatigue or exhaustion, the user can change to a switch-type control device requiring less control and dexterity (e.g., less strength and energy) to effectively control the power wheelchair. The user can also start the day with a 4, 3, or 2 switch direction input control and later change to a single switch input control device with scanning. Other combinations are also possible.

A system includes an adapter and a lock. The adapter includes a flexible collar and an attachment structure. The flexible collar is configured to at least partially surround a portion of the wheelchair such that the flexible collar engages the portion of the wheelchair and aids in preventing rotation of the adapter relative to the portion of the wheelchair. The attachment structure has a first arm attached to and extending from the flexible collar and a second arm attached to and extending from the flexible collar. The lock includes a body and a mounting platform attached thereto. The body of the lock is configured to engage the attachment structure to aid in maintaining the flexible collar in a closed position. The mounting platform has one or more coupling mechanisms attached thereto for use in removably mounting one or more accessories to the system.
