Bed system for attachment to a hospital bed for turning a patient
There is provided a bed system for turning a patient, which system is simple to install on existing beds and which does not require any modification of the existing bed. The bed system has a base frame with attachment means for attachment of the bed system to an existing frame of a hospital bed. First and second sections with bed elements ensure proper support for the patient, and these sections are pivotally movable around an axis parallel with the length of the patient.
Lateral transfer mattress and rotational positioning device
An inflatable transfer mattress includes a top panel, a bottom panel having a perimeter sealingly coupled to a perimeter of the top panel to define an internal volume therebetween, and a rotational positioning device coupled to the top panel. The internal volume is configured to receive an air flow therein. The rotational positioning device is positioned outside of the internal volume and includes at least one inflatable bladder configured to be inflated from a deflated state to an inflated state. The bladder portion is configured to rotate a patient to a predetermined angle with respect to the top panel in the inflated state.

Bed frame for side sleeping
The invention is an asymmetrical bedframe. The bedframe is divided off-center, forming a first platform, or back support section and a second platform, or leg support section. Preferably, the platforms are split to separate the area of the bed frame into a first platform that occupies one-third of the area of the bedframe, and a second platform that occupies two-thirds of the area of the bedframe. The first platform—the smaller area—is intended to support the back of the user or sleeper, specifically by providing a rotational force to keep the user on their side. The second platform—the larger area—is intended to support the body of the user, including head, arms, torso, legs, and feet.
Patient Support Systems And Methods For Assisting Caregivers With Patient Care
A patient support system for providing customized user menus. The system comprises a patient support apparatus, a user interface configured to receive input from a user, and a display configured to display user menus or information. The user menus may comprise indicia representative of the operational functions of the patient support apparatus. A controller determines the customized user menu based on usage characteristics, a position of the user interface in proximity to the patient support apparatus, a location of the user interface within a facility, an identification of the user, and/or a patient condition. A touchscreen and/or a mobile device may comprise the user interface and the display. The mobile device may be removably coupled to the patient support apparatus. Methods for improving patient care by providing the customized user menu are also disclosed.
SINGLE PORT LATERAL TRANSFER DEVICE AND ROTATIONAL POSITIONING DEVICE COMBINATION
An inflatable transfer mattress includes a top panel, a bottom panel having a perimeter sealingly coupled to a perimeter of the top panel to define an internal volume therebetween, a first wedge pocket coupled to an outer surface of the top panel, and a first inflatable wedge. The internal volume is configured to receive an air flow therein. The first inflatable wedge is sized and configured to be inserted into the first wedge pocket and is configured to be transitioned from a deflated state to an inflated state. The first inflatable wedge is configured to rotate a patient to a predetermined angle with respect to the top panel in the inflated state.
Guard rail for a bed, guide rack for a guard rail and a bed with such guard rail
Guard rail for a bed, guide rack for a guard rail and a bed with such guard rail The invention relates to a guard rail with bars intended for extending along a side of the bed. Guide racks are arranged along opposing ends of the bars. The guide racks include fastening means for securing the guide racks to the bed. Each end of the bars is adapted for engaging a suspension element. Each of the guide racks has a hook at a top position of the guide rack. A top suspension element has a pawl capable of engaging and disengaging the hook of the guide rack. Between a top suspension element and a neighbouring lower suspension element, a connecting element is provided, having a variable extension and a maximum extension between the top suspension element and the neighbouring first lower suspension element. The invention also relates to a guide rack, a method of operating the guard rail and to a bed with a guard rail.
Patient support systems and methods for assisting caregivers with patient care
A patient support system for providing improved guidance tools with respect to a patient support apparatus. A user interface is configured to receive inputs from a user, and an information output device is configured to provide instructions to the user. The user interface and the information output device may be embodiment on a touchscreen display. The user inputs may include a search query. A controller may be adapted to determine search results corresponding to operational functions of the patient support apparatus responsive to the search query and to provide said search results to the user with the information output device. The user input may include shorthand commands corresponding to operational functions of the patient support apparatus. The user interface may include a voice actuation device configured to receive voice actuation commands from a user.
Automatic patient turning and lifting method, system, and apparatus
Automatic patient turning and lifting method, system, and apparatus. An exemplary turning and lifting mattress device discloses herein includes a plurality of left and right inflatable turning bladders, a mattress support structure positioned on the bladders and itself including an outer mattress casing including an inner chamber filled with a plurality of particles, at least one contact surface configured to be in contact with a patient during use, wherein the outer mattress casing is configured to be inflated and evacuated such that the outer mattress casing is capable of being shapeable when inflated, and forms a resilient structure configured to hold its shape when evacuated, and wherein, during use, the at least one contact surface conforms to the shape of a body, the plurality of particles displaced from around the body leaving a depression on the at least one contact surface in the shape of the body.
Method and apparatus for upgrading a bed to include moveable components
A mattress support includes a first section and a second section configured to be coupled to the first section. Each of the first section and the second section includes a base plate configured to be positioned on a box frame of a bed. A top plate is pivotable relative to the base plate. A bladder structure is positioned between the base plate and the top plate and inflatable to adjust a height of the top plate.
