PERSON SUPPORT APPARATUS WITH ADJUSTABLE EXIT DETECTION ZONES

A person support apparatus, such as a bed, cot, stretcher, or the like, for a supporting an occupant includes an exit detection system that has, in some embodiments, multiple user-selectable zones. An alert is triggered when the occupant crosses a boundary of the selected zone. A first zone has a boundary that is adjusted based on a condition of the person support apparatus, such as the width of the support deck or other characteristic. A second zone has a boundary that is not adjusted based on the condition of the person support apparatus, but which may have a boundary that is dependent on an initial location of the occupant when the exit detection system is armed. The initial location of the occupant may correspond to a center of gravity of the occupant.

PATIENT SUPPORT WITH DECK WIDTH MONITORING AND CONTROL

A patient support, such as a bed, a cot, a stretcher, or the like, for supporting an occupant includes sensors adapted to detect a status of the patient support, such as the width of the width-adjustable patient support component or the locked or unlocked state of the patient support component. A control system for the patient support is configured to determine if the patient support is in an unacceptable status, such as an unacceptable width configuration or an unlocked state, based on the sensed status. The control system is adapted to issue an alert or take action or prompt a caregiver to take an action if the patient support status is unacceptable.

System for managing patient support apparatuses and clinical rounds

A caregiver assistance system for assisting a caregiver in a healthcare facility to perform his or her rounding duties comprises a server in communication with one or more patient beds and one or more electronic devices (e.g. smart phones) that are remote from the beds and that include a display, a user input, and a web browser. The server executes a caregiver assistance application that causes the electronic device to perform the following actions after the web browser of the electronic device accesses a particular URL whose content and function are controlled by the caregiver assistance application: (a) display rounding information on the display relating to a patient associated with the bed, and (b) forward a completion indication to the caregiver assistance application wherein the completion indication is generated in response to a caregiver manipulating the user input when the caregiver has completed a rounding task associated with the patient.

A rehabilitation mechanism rehabilitates the joints, muscles, and tendons of the legs of a bedridden patient in an automated manner according to a plan. A knee module can be operatively connected to the knee joint of the patient. A control module controls rehabilitation movements by way of the knee module. The knee module is a module to be arranged above the patient and the mattress, which module is supported directly or indirectly on a bed or the mattress frame, and includes a knee prosthesis which receives a knee joint of the patient, a connection element connected to the knee prosthesis, an extension arm to which the connection element is secured, and a mechanism to be actuated by the control module and which introduces a defined force into the knee prosthesis via the extension arm and the connection element to carry out rehabilitation movements according to a plan.

MATTRESS BLADDER CONTROL USING A BLEED VALVE

The present disclosure relates to patient support systems, such as hospital beds, and particularly to reconfigurable patient support systems movable among a number of different positions. The present disclosure further relates to control algorithms and interfaces for use in patient support systems.

Managing medication administration in clinical care room

Methods, computer systems, and computer readable media are provided for transitioning a clinical care room from a first scene to a second scene in order to facilitate completion of a medication-administration process. The first scene in the clinical care room is presented where the clinical care room has one or more zones. The first scene is associated with a first group of setting for components within the one or more zones. An input indicating that the medication-administration process has been initiated is received. Incident to receiving the input, the second scene is provided. The second scene is associated with a second group of settings for the components. The second group of settings is optimized to facilitate completion medication-administration process.

Patient positioning support apparatus with virtual pivot-shift pelvic pads, upper body stabilization and fail-safe table attachment mechanism

A patient support apparatus for supporting a patient in a prone position during a surgical procedure is provided, including an open fixed frame suspended above a floor and a pair of spaced opposed radially sliding joints cooperating with the frame, each joint including a virtual pivot point and an arc of motion spaced from the virtual pivot point, the joints being movable along the arc providing a pivot ship mechanism for a pair of pelvic pads attached to the joints. A base for supporting and suspending a patient support structure above the floor, for supporting a patient during a surgical procedure, the base including a pair of spaced opposed vertical translation subassemblies reversibly attachable to a patient support structure, a cross-bar, and a rotation subassembly having two degrees of rotational freedom; wherein a location of each vertical translation subassembly is substantially constant during operation of the patient support structure.

Hospital bed with adjustable width

A hospital bed comprising: a frame; a plurality of extendable patient support panels mounted to the frame, each patient support panel including a central section and at least one side section selectively movable laterally towards and away from the central section; a movement transmission assembly including at least one transmission member connecting at least two of the movable side sections for laterally moving at least one of the movable side sections when another one of the movable side sections is moved.
