An automated computer-controlled sampling system and related methods for collecting, processing, and analyzing agricultural samples for various chemical properties such as plant available nutrients. The sampling system allows multiple samples to be processed and analyzed for different analytes or chemical properties in a simultaneous concurrent or semi-concurrent manner. Advantageously, the system can process soil samples in the as collected condition without drying or grinding. The system generally includes a sample preparation sub-system which receives soil samples collected by a probe collection sub-system and produces a slurry (i.e. mixture of soil, vegetation, and/or manure and water), and a chemical analysis sub-system which processes the prepared slurry samples for quantifying multiple analytes and/or chemical properties of the sample. The sample preparation and chemical analysis sub-systems can be used to analyze soil, vegetation, and/or manure samples.

Presented and described herein is a stroke system (1) for dosing a fluid from a container (3), comprising a piston pump (5) with a piston (7), so that a fluid can be dosed from a container (3) by displacement of the piston (7), and a temperature control device (29) for controlling the temperature of the fluid to be dosed by means of the stroke system (1).

Agricultural sampling system and related methods

A coulter assembly for collecting soil samples from an agricultural field in one embodiment comprises an annular collection blade configured for penetrating soil to capture a sample, an annular cam ring configured for stationary mounting to a frame of an agricultural vehicle and comprising a cam track, a blade hub coupled to the blade for rotatably supporting the annular collection blade from the annular cam ring, and a movable sample collector mounted to the annular collection blade. The moveable sample collector is configured and operable for extracting a soil sample as the annular collection blade is rotated through the soil. The moveable sample collector in one embodiment comprises a piston mechanism including a cylinder and rod movably disposed therein which actuated by the annular cam ring to alternatingly open and close a collection end of the cylinder as the annular collection blade rotates through the soil.

METHOD FOR PREPARING MICROCARRIER SUITABLE FOR THREE-DIMENSIONAL CELL CULTURE AND REACTION APPARATUS

Provided herein is a method for preparing an emulsion, comprising the steps of allowing a dispersed phase liquid to flow from one side to the other side of a multi-hole plate through a plurality of micro-wells of the multi-hole plate while allowing a continuous phase liquid to flow, parallel to the multi-hole plate, on the other side of the multi-hole plate, shearing the dispersed phase liquid passing through the multi-hole plate to form liquid microspheres in the flowing continuous phase liquid. Further provided herein are an apparatus for preparing an emulsion and a process system for preparing microcarrier particles, which can be used for preparing emulsions and microcarrier particles on a large scale.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR POINT-OF-CARE SYNTHESIS AND ADMINISTRATION OF PARTICLE-BASED THERAPEUTICS

The present disclosure is related to an apparatus and system for synthesizing and administering particle-based therapeutics at the point-of-care. The apparatus includes a first chamber for receiving a first solution including lipids in a first solvent, a second chamber for receiving a second solution including nucleic acids in a second solvent, a mixing channel in communication with the first chamber and the second chamber, and a delivery system in communication with the to the mixing channel. The first solution in the first chamber and the second solution in the second chamber can be introduced into the mixing channel. The particle-based delivery system form in the mixing channel and the nucleic acids adhere to the particles. The formulated particle-based therapeutics are passed through a delivery system to a subject for administration.
