Agricultural sampling system and related methods

An automated computer-controlled sampling system and related methods for collecting, processing, and analyzing agricultural samples for various chemical properties such as plant available nutrients. The sampling system allows multiple samples to be processed and analyzed for different analytes or chemical properties in a simultaneous concurrent or semi-concurrent manner. Advantageously, the system can process soil samples in the as collected condition without drying or grinding. The system generally includes a sample preparation sub-system which receives soil samples collected by a probe collection sub-system and produces a slurry (i.e. mixture of soil, vegetation, and/or manure and water), and a chemical analysis sub-system which processes the prepared slurry samples for quantifying multiple analytes and/or chemical properties of the sample. The sample preparation and chemical analysis sub-systems can be used to analyze soil, vegetation, and/or manure samples.

Method for producing dispersions of a defined particle size, a liquid mixture dispersion (Dm) being continuously separated into a coarse fraction dispersion (Dg) and a fine fraction dispersion (Df), comprising the following steps: A) continuously or discontinuously producing the mixed dispersion (Dm) in a pre-dispersion process, in which a particle mixture (Pm) of a disperse phase is mixed with a continuous liquid phase to form the mixed dispersion (Dm) and is intermediately stored in at least one mixing tank (Tm), B) introducing the mixed dispersion (Dm) from the pre-dispersion process into at least one continuously operating separating device (VT), C) separating the particle mixture (Pm) of the mixed dispersion (Dm) in the at least one separating device (VT) into coarse particles (Pg) of the coarse fraction dispersion (Dg) and into fine particles (Pf) of the fine fraction dispersion (Df) in accordance with a threshold value for the particle size, D) discharging the fine fraction dispersion (Df) from the at least one separating device (VT) into at least one storage tank (Tv), E) discharging the coarse fraction dispersion (Dg) from the at least one separating device (VT) into at least one disperser (DP), F) crushing the coarse particles (Pg) of the coarse fraction dispersion (Dg) in the at least one disperser (DP) into a dispersed particle mixture (PDm) and returning the dispersed particle mixture (PDm) into the at least one mixing tank (Tm), to the pre-dispersion process, and G) mixing the dispersed particle mixture (PDm) returned to the pre-dispersion process with the mixed dispersion (DM) produced in the pre-dispersion process in the at least one mixing tank (Tm).

PRECISE MODIFYING METHOD FOR FINE PARTICLE DISPERSION LIQUID
20190031508 · 2019-01-31 · ·

A method for modifying a fine particle dispersion liquid has excellent dispersibility and dispersion stability. In this method for modifying a fine particle dispersion liquid having improved fine particle dispersibility, impurities included in an agglomeration of fine particles contained in the fine particle dispersion liquid are released into the dispersion liquid by applying physical energy to the agglomeration and performing dispersion processing for dispersion into particles that are smaller than the agglomeration of fine particles. The impurities are removed from the dispersion liquid by means of a removal unit provided with a filtration membrane before reagglomeration is caused by the impurities.

PRECISE MODIFYING METHOD FOR FINE PARTICLE DISPERSION LIQUID
20190031509 · 2019-01-31 · ·

A method for modifying a fine particle dispersion liquid with which dispersibility and dispersion stability can be improved includes performing filtration to remove impurities in a dispersion liquid using a dispersion liquid modifying device provided with a removal unit that uses a filtration membrane. The quantity of impurities is reduced from a first region until said quantity reaches a second pH-dependent region. In the second pH-dependent region, the dispersibility of the fine particles in the dispersion liquid is in a range in which the dispersibility depends more on a change in dispersion liquid pH than on a change in the quantity of impurities in the dispersion liquid. With the quantity of impurities reduced to the second pH-dependent region, the dispersibility of the fine particles is controlled by adjusting the pH of the fine particle dispersion liquid.
