System for collecting body waste of non-ambulatory patients
A body waste collection system for bedridden or chair-bound patients. A waste entry port may interface with a resting surface of the bed or chair by way of a funnel that terminates at the resting surface. A collection unit may be fluidly coupled to the waste entry port by a flexible conduit system. The collection unit may include a temperature gauge, a volume measure, a sample port, and an odor removal port. Once the bedridden or chair-bound patient has assumed a release position along the resting surface defined by the waste entry port, no other lifting or movement of the patient is needed to collect their body waste in the collection unit, which can utilize the integrated hardware.
INFORMATION PROVIDING DEVICE
An information providing device capable of more adequately providing information regarding excretion is provided. According to one embodiment of the invention, the information providing device includes a processor. The processor acquires a first signal and a second signal. The first signal is obtained from an excretion sensor to detect excretion of a user. The second signal is obtained from a sleep sensor to detect a sleep state of the user. The processor outputs a notification signal for notifying the excretion when the first signal includes first information corresponding to a fact that the user is excreting, and the second signal includes second information corresponding to a fact that the user is awake. The processor does not output the notification signal in a first mode when the first signal includes the first information and, the second signal does not include the second information.

APPARATUS FOR THE DETECTION OF MOISTURE
A moisture management apparatus monitors an area for moisture events and wirelessly transmits moisture-related information to one or more notification devices. An embodiment of the moisture management apparatus includes a substrate and one or more sensors supported by the substrate. The sensor(s) emit wireless signals indicative of the moisture-related information. A sensor event communication system forwards the sensor signals to another device, such as a notification device. The sensor event communication system may monitor other types of patient events. Portions of the moisture management apparatus and/or the moisture event communication system may be embodied in a patient support apparatus, such as a bed.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INDICATING CONTINENCE STATE OF A PATIENT ON A BED
A patient support apparatus includes a frame and a mattress supported by the frame and arranged to support a patient thereon. A sensor is included to detect moisture on the patient and/or the patient support apparatus. The sensor produces signals indicative of the presence of moisture on the patient support apparatus. One or more alerts are output in response to the signals provided by the sensor to notify a caregiver of the presence of moisture on the patient support apparatus.

Easy drain mattress
The present invention discloses a drain mattress system which includes a mattress positioned on a bed frame. The drain mattress system is configured to have a collection tubes and a central removable collection tank. The drain mattress system configured to have drain holes that are positioned in the center of the mattress. The center section of the drain mattress system is penetrated with a series of collection tubes that protrude through a lower support surface of the bed frame and are connected to the collection tube, which is then collected in a funnel and directed to the central removable collection tank located under the bed. The drain mattress system automatically drains the fluid to the central removable collection tank enabling the mattress dry. The drain mattress system is attached to a suction vacuum to pull out the fluid and fecal matter.

Motorized hospital bed assembly
A motorized hospital bed assembly includes a bed frame that is positionable in an open position to define an opening in the bed frame. A motor is coupled to the bed frame and a drive unit is engaged to the motor. The drive unit urges the bed frame between the open position and the closed position. A toilet support is coupled to the bed frame and a portable toilet is positioned on the toilet support. The portable toilet is aligned with the opening when the bed frame is positioned in the open position to be employed by a patient while the patient is lying on the bed frame. A remote control is positionable on the bed frame and the remote control is in wireless communication with the drive unit to remotely control the drive unit.
