A vortex flow inducer has inducer body with an interior end, an outer end and a length extending there between, and a longitudinal axis extending between the interior and the outer ends. A flow passage extends between the interior and outer ends of the inducer body. The flow passage has an inlet at the outer end and an exit at the interior end. The flow passage is swept laterally toward a side of the inducer body in a direction from the outer end toward the interior end such that the exit is laterally offset from the longitudinal axis. The interior end of the inducer body has a concave curvature. The swept flow passage and the curved interior end induce a vortex flow in a fluid flowing through the flow passage as it exits the flow passage and into a flow passage of a conduit the that extends at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the inducer body.

Electrolytic Cell and System for Treating Water

A water treatment system is disclosed having an electrolytic cell for liberating hydrogen from a base solution. The base solution may be a solution of brine for generating sodium hypochlorite or potable water to be oxidized. The cell has first and second opposing electrode end plates held apart from each other by a pair of supports such that the supports enclose opposing sides of the end plates to form a cell chamber. One or more inner electrode plates are spaced apart from each other in the cell chamber in between the first and second electrode plates. The supports are configured to electrically isolate the first and second electrode plates and the inner electrode plates from each other. The first and second electrode plates are configured to receive opposite polarity charges that passively charge the inner electrode plates via conduction from the base solution to form a chemical reaction in the base solution as the base solution passes through the cell chamber.

METHOD AND INSTALLATION FOR HOMOGENIZING A SHEAR THINNING FLUID CONTAINED IN A CYLINDRICAL TANK

The present invention is related to an installation and to a method for recirculating and mixing a fluid which is preferably a shear-thinning fluid. The installation comprises a tank, a pump, a piping assembly connected to the pump and comprising an injection piping for injecting said fluid into the tank and a return piping coupled to the injection piping for pumping the said fluid from the tank to the injection piping, wherein the piping assembly and the tank form a flow recirculation path in which fluid is homogenized by recirculation of the fluid upon action of the said pump, the injection piping being designed such as to reinject the fluid in at least two peripheral bottom locations with an horizontal and/or inclined orientation such as to create a swirl movement in the tank and to reinject simultaneously said fluid upwardly through a central location in a zone comprised between the central axis of the tank and the half radius of the tank such as to create a jet of fluid having a main vertical component.
