Patient support apparatus for removably retaining differently-sized portable electronic devices
A patient support apparatus for removably retaining differently-sized portable electronic devices. The patient support apparatus comprises a base, a litter with a patient support deck for supporting the patient, and a side rail. The side rail is coupled to the litter and arranged for movement relative to the base. The side rail includes a caddy comprising a back, a first brace, and a second brace spaced from the first brace. The first brace extends laterally from the back and defines a first bottom support region. The second brace extends laterally from the back and defines a second bottom support region converging toward the first bottom support region to arrange the first and second bottom support regions to provide differing points of contact for retaining differently-sized portable electronic devices.
POWER TRANSFER SYSTEM WITH PATIENT TRANSPORT APPARATUS AND POWER TRANSFER DEVICE TO TRANSFER POWER TO THE PATIENT TRANSPORT APPARATUS
A power transfer system comprises a patient transport apparatus and a power transfer device. The power transfer system provides convenience and ease of connection between a power source and the patient transport apparatus to provide power to one or more electrically powered devices on the patient transport apparatus or to provide energy for an energy storage device on the patient transport apparatus.

SIDERAIL POWER COMMUNICATION INTERFACE
A siderail assembly for a person support apparatus comprises a siderail body, a grip portion, and a power communication device. The siderail body includes a front surface, a back surface, and a side surface extending between the front surface and the back surface. The side surface defines a perimeter of the siderail body. The grip portion includes a siderail opening through a portion of the siderail body. The grip opening has an upper grip opening portion that cooperates with the side surface to define a grip. The power communication device is configured to communicate power to a device.
MULTI-ALERT LIGHTS FOR HOSPITAL BED
A patient support apparatus, such as a hospital bed, includes an alert light assembly or an alert light module having separate zones that are individually illuminated to convey information regarding respective alert conditions. The zones each have indicia related to a particular condition of the patient support apparatus. The illuminated zones are each sufficiently large so as to be seen from afar, such as on the order of ten feet or more. Alternatively or additionally, a GUI of the patient support apparatus displays alert indicia as part of a screen saver. Further alternatively or additionally, the patient support apparatus illuminates an alert light in a manner indicating an optimal time for taking a patient's vital signs.

PATIENT CARE SYSTEM WITH UNAUTHORIZED USE DETECTION
A system and method to detect an unauthorized device coupled to an interface of a control system for a patient support apparatus. The interface may be wired or wireless, and the system and method may involve determining an operating signature of a device coupled to an interface. Based on the operating signature being consistent with a device signature stored in memory, the system may determine the device coupled to the interface is an authorized device.
PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUS SYSTEMS WITH DYNAMIC CONTROL ALGORITHMS
A patient support apparatus, such as a bed, stretcher, cot, or the like, includes a frame, a support surface, a control, a controller, and a transceiver. The patient support apparatus employs one or more machine learning techniques to perform one or more of the following: automatically implement one or more user-preferred settings, automatically predict the occurrence of one or more events based on analyses of prior events, and/or automatically improve one or more algorithms based on analyses of additional sensor data. The machine learning techniques may be implemented onboard the patient support apparatus and/or may be implemented at a remote computer device (e.g. a server) that collates and analyzes data from multiple patient support apparatuses, and then sends the results of the analyses back to the patient support apparatuses.
BED-LEAVING PREDICTION NOTIFICATION DEVICE AND NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM
A bed-leaving prediction device (server device) (10) is connected through a digital communication network (60) to: a portable information processing terminal (40) of care staff; environmental sensors (32 to 34) for detecting environment values such as temperature in a room; a human sensor (31); and a bed sensor (35). A bed-leaving prediction processing section (115) calculates a bed-leaving prediction value indicative of a degree of possibility that a care recipient leaves a sleeping furniture after a second time interval has expired since a current time point based on a plurality of environment values detected in a time period between the current time point and a time point before expiration of a first time interval, outputs of the human sensor, and outputs of the bed sensor. A bed-leaving notification processing section (117) compares the bed-leaving prediction value with a threshold value, and transmits, to the portable information processing terminal, a bed-leaving notification indicating that the care recipient leaves the sleeping furniture after the second time interval expires when the bed-leaving prediction value exceeds the threshold value.
BRACKET ASSEMBLIES INCLUDING RESTRAINT BRACKETS FOR PERSON SUPPORT APPARATUSES AND PERSON SUPPORT APPARATUSES COMPRISING THE SAME
A restraint bracket of a bracket assembly mounted to a lower surface of a support frame of a person support apparatus is disclosed. The restraint bracket includes a bracket body having an upper surface and a lower surface opposite the upper surface, a pair of flanges formed on the upper surface of the bracket body, and an attachment member extending from the lower surface of the bracket body, the attachment member having a first end and a second end opposite the first end, the first end and the second end fixed to the lower surface of the bracket body.
