Top dripping and bottom wicking assembly and method of feeding a plant
10667477 · 2020-06-02 ·

A top dripping and bottom wicking assembly and method of operation feeds a reservoir that controllably drips liquid nutrient solution from above a plant, and also uses capillary action of a planar wick member to draw the liquid nutrient solution into a plant growing medium and plant roots. The assembly works to controllably drip the liquid nutrient onto the plant through sized and dimensioned drip holes that form in the reservoir, while simultaneously dispersing the liquid nutrient solution through a planar wick member to disperse liquid nutrient solution to a plant growing medium and the roots of the plant. Stakes hold the reservoir above the plant. The wick member is flat and forms a central opening to allow passage of the plant. A plant support member retains the plant in an upright position. The plant support member forms wicking holes to enable passage of liquid nutrients from the wick.

Method for the cultivation of plants using a carrier with a removable side support structure arranged thereon

The invention relates to a method for the cultivation of a number of plants (9), comprising providing a carrier with apertures for said plants (3, 13) and providing a water supply (8), wherein said carrier can be provided on said water supply in a floating manner and wherein a growth medium containing the roots of said plant or the precursor thereof are placed in an air-containing intermediate space (10) in the apertures in said carrier at such a distance from said water supply that said roots of said plant or the precursor thereof are situated at a vertical distance (a) from said water supply, wherein at least two horizontally opposing sides of an upper part of the growth medium are sideways supported along a height (h) by corresponding sides of a removable side support structure (18), removably arranged on top of the carrier.

The present disclosure relates to a plant cultivating apparatus. The plant cultivating apparatus according to an aspect of the present disclosure includes a body configured to have a cultivation chamber therein, a water storage configured to be disposed in the body and store water, a water supply bed configured to be disposed at one side of the cultivation chamber and have a water supply flow path receiving water from the water storage, and a cultivation port configured to be seated on the water supply bed and receive water from the water supply flow path, in which the cultivation port includes a suction member disposed in the cultivation port and suctioning water stored in the water supply flow path, and a medium disposed above the suction member, receiving water from the suction member, and storing nutrients required for plant growth.

Hydroponic tray and hydroponic system
10624282 · 2020-04-21 · ·

The tray (10) of the present invention is for use in hydroponics. The tray has a first end and a second end having a longitudinal axis defined therebetween. An inlet (20) is provided at the first end for receiving nutrient and an outlet (30) is provided at the second end for draining nutrient solution. A levee system comprising paddle assemblies (40) extending orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the tray is disposed between the first end and second end of the tray. The paddle assemblies are adapted to partition the tray to define compartments and to impede the downstream flow of nutrient solution from the first end to the second end. The paddle assemblies are adjustable so as regulate depth of nutrient solution in each compartment to enable optimal irrigation of the plants cultivated in each compartment. To complete a hydroponic system, the tray of the present invention connects to at least one reservoir for holding nutrient solution. The reservoir comprises conduits in flow communication with the inlet of the tray or outlet of the tray. Nutrient solution held in the reservoir is supplied to the tray via the inlet, and nutrient solution in the tray is drained into the reservoir via the outlet.

A greenwall cladding system for the growth of organisms such as plants and fungi on the side of structures, such as internal and external walls of buildings, is provided. Methods for the production of organisms on a greenwall cladding system, such as plants and fungi are also provided herein.

GAS PERMEABLE FLOWERPOT

A gas permeable flowerpot (100), comprising: a tray (10), a flowerpot body (30), and a bottom plate (50). The tray (10) comprises an accommodating trough (10A) for accumulating water; the flowerpot body (30) is filled with soil; the flowerpot body (30) is provided with a plurality of stacked hollow subunits (32); the soil in each hollow subunit (32) is gas permeable; the bottom plate (50) is made of a micro-porous water absorbing material and comprises a water permeable plate (51) and a water absorbing column (52) which extends downwardly out from the water permeable plate (51); the soil is in contact with the water permeable plate (51), and the water absorbing column (52) extends into the accommodating trough (10A). Because of the water permeability of the water permeable plate (51), excessive water can flow through the water permeable plate (51) into the tray (10) to prevent roots from being eroded by water. In addition, the water absorbing column (52) extends into the tray (10) to upwardly absorb and continuously supplement the soil and roots with moisture.
