Base module, medical system and method for operation of the medical system
A base module is for a mobile medical system, designed to cover distances autonomously or semi-autonomously. The base module includes a chassis having a plurality of rolling bodies. The rolling bodies are mounted to rotate about axes of rotation and, via adjusting devices, are adjustable in the vertical direction such that each respective rolling body is movable between a first position, in which the respective rolling body is in contact with a floor area, and a second position, in which the respective rolling body is spaced apart from the floor area. A medical system includes a base module of an embodiment. A method for operation of the medical system is also disclosed.

PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUS HAVING DETACHABLE BARRIER ASSEMBLY
A patient support apparatus that is adaptable to multiple modes of transport includes a variable length base and a drive system that includes two independently drivable wheels that are responsive to inputs from a user to steer the patient support apparatus. A barrier assembly is secured to the upper frame by a tab which is received into a receiver formed in a head end of the frame.

Manual lift system for bed power assist wheel
A lift mechanism for a wheel assembly includes a lever arm having a first axis of rotation, and a first torque transfer plate having a second axis of rotation coincident with the first axis of rotation. A lift block is engageable by the first torque transfer plate and has a first angularly disposed surface and a resting surface adjacent to the first angularly disposed surface. The lift mechanism is configured such that rotation of the lever arm causes the first torque transfer plate to rotate into engagement with the lift block, thereby causing linear motion of the lift block. The wheel assembly is raised and lowered by contact between a portion of the wheel assembly and the first angularly disposed surface of the lift block and held in a raised position when the portion of the wheel assembly is positioned with respect to the resting surface.

PATIENT SUPPORT WITH IMPROVED CONTROL
A patient support apparatus includes a deck to support a mattress and a patient on the mattress, the deck including a head deck section articulatable about an axis to change an angle of the head deck section, and a control system in communication with a user interface, with the control system configured to adjust the angle of the head deck section and to adjust the height of the deck in response to input at the user interface. The control system is in communication with a display and generates a GUI (graphical user interface) at the display to display a deck icon representative of the deck and a height icon representative of the height. The control system monitors the angle of the deck section and the height of the deck and adjusts the deck and height icons to schematically illustrate the adjustments made to the height of the deck and the angle of the head deck section to provide visual feedback to a user of the changes in height of the deck and/or angle of the head deck section in response to the user's input at the user interface.
Power Transfer System With Patient Transport Apparatus And Power Transfer Device To Transfer Power To The Patient Transport Apparatus
A power transfer system comprises a patient transport apparatus and a power transfer device. The power transfer system provides convenience and ease of connection between a power source and the patient transport apparatus to provide power to one or more electrically powered devices on the patient transport apparatus or to provide energy for an energy storage device on the patient transport apparatus.

Patient Turning Device For A Patient Support Apparatus
A patient turning device for a patient support apparatus. The patient turning device includes a first and second bladder assembly each including a plurality of layers and seals defining a bladder volume. The bladder volumes are selectively inflatable with fluid to expand the respective bladder assembly, and consequently move a patient support surface of the patient support apparatus. A portion of a lower layer of the first bladder assembly and a portion of an upper layer of the second bladder assembly define an overlapping region of the bladder volumes. The patient turning device is coupled to an underside of a carrier sheet and positioned between a crib assembly and a bottom cover. An augmenting feature is configured to resiliently expand as at least one of the first and second bladder assemblies receives the fluid to move at least a portion of the crib assembly away from a patient support deck.
