METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR WATER PROCESSING
A method of evaporating a fluid is provided. The method comprises forming a flow with toroidal vortices in the fluid, such that the fluid is exposed to alternating flow velocities and alternating pressures, thereby increasing evaporation of the fluid. A method of precipitating salt out of an aqueous solution is also provided. The method comprises forming a flow with toroidal vortices in the aqueous solution, such that the aqueous solution is exposed to alternating flow velocities and alternating pressures, thereby initiating precipitation of salts from the solution.
Mixing conduits including swirler vanes for use within an exhaust treatment system
A mixing conduit for use within an exhaust treatment system of a work vehicle. The mixing conduit is configured to receive engine exhaust and a mixture of engine exhaust and reductant. The mixing conduit includes an outer tube and an inner tube within the outer tube. Each tube extends lengthwise from upstream ends to downstream ends of the inner and outer tubes, respectively. The inner tube includes an exterior surface, and the outer tube includes an interior surface. The inner tube defines an inner flowpath within the inner tube. The outer tube and inner tube also define an outer flowpath radially between the exterior surface of the inner tube and the interior surface of the outer tube. The mixing conduit further includes one or more swirler vanes extending radially between the exterior surface of the inner tube and the interior surface of the outer tube and within the outer flowpath.
SYSTEM FOR MIXING A LIQUID SPRAY INTO A GASEOUS FLOW AND EXHAUST AFTERTREATMENT DEVICE COMPRISING SAME
A spray/gas mixer includes a main body having a circumferential wall defining an inlet opening at one end and an outlet opening at another end; a divider baffle within the main body; a swirl duct having a first end adjacent to the wall and a second end extending to the divider baffle; an injector orifice at the first end of the swirl duct; a swirl promoting means; and a restrictor. The swirl promoting means is arranged between the divider baffle and the restrictor. Gas passing through the swirl promoting means is swirled around the first longitudinal axis (A) before passing through the restrictor. The restrictor is disposed between the swirl promoting means and the second end, forcing gas reaching it from an upstream side away from a peripheral region of the interior towards a center axis of the main body.
MIXERS FOR USE IN AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEMS
An aftertreatment system comprises: a housing, a SCR system disposed in the housing. A mixer is disposed upstream of the SCR system and includes: a hub, a tubular member disposed circumferentially around the hub and defining a reductant entry port, and plurality of vanes extending from the hub to the tubular member such that openings are defined between adjacent vanes. The plurality of vanes swirl the exhaust gas in a circumferential direction. A reductant injector is disposed on the housing upstream of the SCR system along a transverse axis and configured to insert a reductant into the exhaust gas flowing through the housing through the reductant entry port. The reductant is inserted at a non-zero angle with respect to the transverse axis opposite the circumferential direction to achieve virtual interception. A mixer central axis is radially offset with respect to a housing central axis of the housing.
APPARATUS FOR DISPERSING CARBON NANOTUBES
A apparatus for dispersing carbon nanotubes according to the present invention includes: a solution receiving part including a solution receiving body portion, a flow pipe portion formed by passing through an inside of the solution receiving body portion, and through which a CNT solution flows, and a spiral guide portion formed on an inner wall of the flow pipe portion and configured to guide the CNT solution to spirally flow; and an ultrasonic vibrator part mounted on an outer wall of the solution receiving body portion, and configured to provide ultrasonic waves to the CNT solution, wherein the spiral guide portion has a right spiral type and a left spiral type alternately formed on the inner wall of the flow pipe portion so that a rotation direction is changed twice or more.
COUNTER-FLOW REACTANT MIXING FOR EXHAUST GAS AFTERTREATMENT
A mixer and a method therein, including feeding a rotating flow of exhaust gas in a mixing pipe towards a turning end of a mixing chamber; dosing reactant by a doser against the rotating flow around a centreline of the mixing pipe; maintaining a guide around the doser such that a front face of the guide faces the rotating flow, and the guide defines a central opening surrounding the doser; guiding a side flow out of the rotating flow to a carrier flow around the doser via the central opening; and inhibiting by the guide turbulence from being transferred from the side flow to the carrier flow.
BIOREACTOR SYSTEM AND METHOD
The present invention is a composting bioreactor system that continually receives biodegradable solid wastes, waste waters and exhaust gases, automatically recycles the biodegradable wastes into nutrients and heat energy, and automatically supplies the nutrients and heat into an integrated hydroponic or aquaponic system. This invention together with integrated food growing system may be installed onsite such as balconies, backyards and premises of restaurants and food factories etc. therefore may lead to zero mileage targets both for recycling wastes and for supplying foods. This invention integrates composting process and aquaponic technology together and may establish a closed-loop recirculation of both water and gases therefore upgrades aquaponics into compoponics. A compoponic system has both soil and soilless growing beds and mimics nature recirculating nutrients, carbon and energy among human being, animals, microorganisms and plants by way of photosynthesis, slow burning by cellular respiration and burning by combustion.
METHOD FOR DEWATERING SLUDGE ASSISTED BY A FLOCCULATING REAGENT AND FACILITY FOR IMPLEMENTING SUCH A METHOD
Method for dewatering sludge assisted by flocculating reagent, said method comprising an injection of flocculating reagent into the sludge and a step for dewatering said sludge, characterized in that it comprises a preliminary step for mixing (4) said sludge so as to destructure it and reduce its viscosity. Installation for implementing this method.
Quench-box assembly for hydroprocessing reactors
The invention relates to Quench box assembly comprising quench pipe and quench box, to mix quench gas and vapor-liquid effluent from previous catalyst bed to achieve equilibrium temperature before entering the next bed. The quench pipe is in the form of ring having aperture while quench box consists of swirling section and a mixing chamber. The swirling section consists of inclined baffles to provide swirling action to incoming stream and the turbulence created by the swirling action increases the heat transfer rate thus requiring the smaller reactor volume to attain equilibrium temperature. The perforated plate being open from all the sides allowing the liquid to flow uniformly from all directions thus providing uniform distribution on the distributor tray. Hence, eliminates the requirement of rough liquid distributor before the distribution tray.
