A bioreactor system includes a support housing having an interior surface bounding a compartment. A rack is secured to the support housing in alignment with the opening. An elongated first shaft has a first end and an opposing second end, the first end of the first shaft being secured to the rack. A structure is secured to the first shaft at or towards the second end of the first shaft, the structure outwardly projecting away from the first shaft. A collapsible bag bounds a chamber and is at least partially disposed within the compartment of the support housing. A member projects from the collapsible bag and passes through the opening on the support housing, the structure supporting or restraining movement of the member.

A mixer for mixing contents of a vessel includes a rotational mechanism with an attached gearbox. First and second shafts are coaxial with each other and attached to the gearbox. The gearbox is configured to rotate the first shaft and the second shaft in opposite directions. First and second rotors are rotated, respectively, in opposite directions by the first and second shafts. A housing encloses the gearbox and extends downward from the gearbox to just above the two contra-rotating first and second rotors (or impellers). The housing directs air (or other gas, liquid, or fluid) downward. Openings at the top of the housing admit air which is forced to the bottom of the housing by additional air impellers fastened to the outer of the two shafts. Lower housing openings allow aerated air to exit into desired material, such as fluid or solid/liquid mixture.

MIXING SHAFT

The present invention concerns a mixing shaft comprising a tool holder and a mixing blade, wherein the tool holder has a recess in which a portion of the mixing blade is fixed. To provide a simple mixing shaft, there is proposed a clamping portion fitted into the recess for fixing the mixing blade portion in the recess, wherein the clamping portion, the recess and the mixing blade portion are of such a configuration that a force-locking connection of the mixing blade in the recess is implemented by means of the clamping portion.
