A machine for and method of making a paste of active material for application to a grid to make a plate for a lead acid battery. In the machine and method sulfuric acid, at least one dry additive and red lead or leady oxide are mixed together and the mixture is cooled by a plurality of cooling zones to maintain the mixture at a temperature not greater than a predetermined maximum temperature.

In a sludge thickener water/wastewater treatment system, sludge solids are recirculated with a mixer positioned in the influent column or offset from the center column and within the stilling well, in order to produce essentially constant sludge solids concentration in the sludge withdrawn from the thickener. This solves the problem of thickeners producing inconsistent underflow solids concentration and often exhibiting problems with binding of rake arms due to sometimes very high sludge concentrations. Also, dewatering steps that follow thickening typically require a relatively constant solids concentration for efficient operation.

The present disclosure relates to a stirring blade for attachment to a support plate, and to a combination of a stirring blade and of a support plate, for use in a mixing vat of a mixing apparatus. The support plate is attached to a driving element of the mixing apparatus. The stirring blade has an elongate section for mixing a content of the vat. The stirring blade also defines an aperture for attachment of the stirring blade to the support plate. The aperture is configured so that raising the stirring blade away from the bottom surface of the vat causes an upper surface of the stirring blade to abut on a stop of the support plate, and raising the driving element and the support plate away from the bottom of the vat allows the stirring blade to pivot downward about the support plate for easy removal of the stirring blade.

There is provided a dry food dispensing apparatus for connecting to a storage receptacle, for the purpose of controlling the portion size and accuracy of the dispensed food, the apparatus having a base providing a housing defining a hollow circumferential interior with a centrally disposed hub, an extraction element disposed in the housing for extracting a first pre-determined portion of the dry food, a rotatable cell holder having a centrally disposed socket for engaging the hub of the base from above, having at least one open-bottomed cell for receiving and temporarily storing the extracted first pre-determined portion; and a dispensing aperture formed in a bottom of the base for releasing the first temporarily stored portion when the extraction element is operated to extract a second pre-determined portion, and the extraction element is operated in a cyclical fashion to obtain from the extracted portions a desired quantity of the dry food.

There is provided an apparatus and a method for producing a play compound and the play compound itself which, in one embodiment is a compound which sufficiently fluid to be pliable and is typically cold and slimy to the touch. The apparatus and a method provide a powder and liquid to a user, which can be a non-skilled person and thereby allow the mixing of the powder and liquid together by that person to form the play compound outside of a factory environment whilst ensuring that the play compound which is formed has the desired characteristics. Most typically the user which performs the mixing can be the end user, such as a child, who will play with the compound and so the formation of the play compound forms a new part of the play experience.

To provide an agitator that can improve the heat transfer efficiency of a processing object to be stirred in a container, an agitator (1) includes a temperature control member (20) that is provided to the container (10) receiving the processing object and is configured to adjust a temperature of the processing object by circulating a heat medium; and a stirring member (30) that stirs the processing object. The temperature control member (20) includes a heat exchanger (24) that penetrates a side surface (12) of the container (10) and extends into the container (10). The stirring member (30) includes a rotation shaft (31) that extends in a vertical direction and a first stirring blade (32) that is attached to the rotation shaft (31). The first stirring blade (32) consists of a flat plate member extending from the rotation shaft (31) in a horizontal direction.

A mixing and dispersing apparatus includes a tank body, a stirring part, a dispersing part, and a driving part. The tank body has an accommodating cavity configured to accommodate materials. The stirring part is disposed in the accommodating cavity and configured to mix the materials in the accommodating cavity. The dispersing part is disposed in the accommodating cavity and includes a first cylinder and a second cylinder. The first cylinder has a first cavity in communication with the accommodating cavity, the second cylinder is located in the first cavity, and the second cylinder has a second cavity in communication with the accommodating cavity. The driving part is connected to the stirring part and the dispersing part. The materials mixed in the accommodating cavity flow into the second cavity and flow out after being dispersed in the dispersing part.
