A medication dispensing system is described. In some embodiments, the system includes a medication station and a controller responsive to patient admittance status information. The medication station includes at least one securable compartment configured to hold medication. The controller is configured to assign a patient to the at least one securable compartment such that medications for the patient are able to be placed into the at least one securable compartment. The controller is also configured to selectively permit access to the medications for the patient in the at least one securable compartment when the patient admittance status information indicates the patient is currently admitted, and restrict access to retrieval of the medications for the patient in the at least one securable compartment when the patient admittance status information indicates the patient is not currently admitted.

Relocation modules and methods for surgical field

Examples of a module for housing unrelated electronic and electromechanical equipment for use during surgery. The module can include a lower section and a tower-like upper section. The lower section can house unrelated electronic and electromechanical equipment. The tower-like upper section can be located on top of the lower section. A water-resistant cowling can enclose at least a portion of the lower section and the tower-like upper section. A cartridge containing one or more ultraviolet-C producing lights can be protectively housed within the tower-like upper section. The cartridge containing one or more ultraviolet-C producing lights can be configured to emerge upward from a top of the tower-like upper section to substantially seat itself on the top of the tower-like upper section when activated allowing the ultraviolet-C light to disinfect the patient and staff-contacting upper surfaces of the equipment in the operating room.

A shelving system (10) comprising a plurality of tubular posts (12) and a plurality of rail segments (72) securable parallel to the posts (14). Each of the rail segments (72) comprises an elongate member having a U-shaped cross section such that the rail segment includes a central wall (74) and first and second side walls (76, 77) such that the posts (12) are received between the first and second side walls (76, 77) and wherein the rail segments (72) include apertures (46) along the lengths thereof to receive tracks (48) for supporting drawers (51).

Cabinet structure configurations for infusion systems

A cabinet structure for an infusion system includes a platform, on which the system is mounted, and a shell surrounding an interior space, which contains at least a portion of the system. The shell preferably includes an opening that is sized and oriented to allow a lowering of a radioisotope generator, for the system, into the interior space, and a lifting of the generator out from the interior space. The shell may further include another opening, located at a higher elevation than the aforementioned opening, in order to provide access to a waste bottle of the infusion system.

NAVIGATION CARTS FOR A MEDICAL PROCEDURE

A cart for housing components of a medical navigation system is provided. The cart comprises a frame including a substantially horizontal base having a bottom side and a top side with wheels attached to the bottom side, a substantially vertical column attached to the top side of the base, and a ballast attached to the base to function as a counterweight to avoid tipping of the cart.
