FLUIDIC DISPENSING DEVICE HAVING A GUIDE PORTION
A fluidic dispensing device includes a housing having a chamber that defines an interior space, and has an inlet port and an outlet port. A flow control portion has a flow separator feature. The flow separator feature is positioned adjacent the inlet port. A stir bar is located in the chamber, has a rotational axis, and has a plurality of paddles, with each paddle having a free end tip. The stir bar has a stir bar radius from the rotational axis to the free end tip. A guide portion confines the stir bar in a predetermined portion of the interior space of the chamber. A ratio of the stir bar radius and a clearance distance between the free end tip and the flow control portion is 5:2 to 5:0.025.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CHARACTERIZING CONDITIONS IN A FLUID MIXING DEVICE
Embodiments of the method disclosed regard use of a torque sensor (e.g., transducer) and using the measured torque to detect the different fluid and mixing properties, conditions, and abnormalities in a mixing process. The torque produced in the mixing process relates to different fluid properties such as viscosity and density. It also relates to different mixing conditions such as presence of obstacles and changes or issues with gas sparging. Moreover, torque measurements enable determination of power transmitted to fluid by actual measurement, in contrast to using solely empirical impeller power number and speed, and allowing for actual mass transfer determination (i.e., gas transfer calculations).
Linear Reciprocating Actuator
A linear reciprocating actuator for mixing, agitating, separation, continuous sampling and/or harvesting or filtration, gas mixing, and various other applications. The actuator may have a housing closed on one end, and attached to a vessel in a hermetically-sealed manner such that it is part of the fluidic envelope of the vessel. An agitation device may be attached to a shaft which is partially surrounded by the housing, or the agitation device may surround the housing where the housing protrudes into the vessel. The actuator enables agitation of the contents of a hermetically-sealed vessel without mechanical coupling from outside the fluidic envelope of the process. The agitation device is solely acted upon by a magnetic field, is contained entirely within the fluidic envelope of the process, and is not attached to the vessel in any way. The magnetic flux which drives the agitation device passes through the housing.
A MIXER FOR A FOOD PRODUCT
A mixer for a food product is described, including a vessel, an stator arranged in the vessel, and a rotor to rotate the food product relative the stator The stator is displaceable relative the rotor by a movement along a stator guide The stator guide includes an interior cavity being enclosed by a wall extending into the vessel, and a first magnetizable material arranged inside the cavity The stator includes a second magnetizable material, wherein a magnetic field between the first and second magnetizable materials generates a force that moves the stator along the stator guide for displacement of the stator relative the rotor.
Apparatus for agitating liquid foodstuff
An apparatus for agitating liquid foodstuff, comprising a whisk that includes a magnetic rotor of a brushless electromotor assembly, and a main body including a liquid foodstuff container in which the whisk is receivable such that it is rotatable around a rotation axis (L) thereof, and a stator of the electromotor assembly. The stator is configured to electromagnetically drive the rotor in rotation, and includes at least one magnetic sensor configured to provide a signal that reflects positional changes of the magnetic rotor relative to the magnetic sensor. The main body also includes a controller configured to detect an initial, manually effected rotational movement of the whisk around its rotation axis from the signal of the magnetic sensor, and, once such initial movement of the whisk is detected, to operate the apparatus independent of said initial, movement.
Single use slurrying and chromatography systems
Methods and systems for chromatography are disclosed that employ a flexible container configured to fit within a support structure and adapted to receive a filtration or absorptive medium. The flexible container can include at least one inlet, at least one outlet, and a separation barrier peripherally sealed within the container to separate the container into a resin containing portion and a drainage portion. The barrier can be configured to exclude the resin material from the drainage portion while allowing fluids to pass therethrough. The disposable chromatography system can further include one or more agitators disposed within the flexible container and adjustably configured to be raised or lowered in the flexible container. When the agitator is in the raised position, the resin packing material can operate in a settled, packed-bed configuration. Alternatively, the agitator in the lowered position permits the chromatography resin packing material to operate in a mixed, slurry configuration.
ELECTROMAGNETIC ROTARY DRIVE AND ROTATIONAL DEVICE
An electromagnetic rotary drive includes a contactlessly magnetically drivable rotor that is coil-free and free of permanent magnets and that includes a magnetically effective core, and a stator by which the rotor is contactlessly magnetically drivable about a desired axis of rotation in the operating state. The stator has a plurality of coil cores of which each includes a bar-shaped longitudinal limb extending from a first end in a direction in parallel with the desired axis of rotation up to a second end, all the first ends being connected by a reflux of windings generate an electromagnetic rotational field of which each surrounds one of the longitudinal limbs. The coil cores include a plurality of permanent magnets by which a permanent magnetic pre-magnetization flux can be generated.
