Certain aspects relate to systems and techniques for a medical device. The medical device can include an elongated shaft having a proximal end, a distal end, and a bendable section between the proximal end and the distal end. The medical device can include a tip assembly at the distal end of the elongated shaft. The tip assembly include a control member and a distal tip component attached to the control member. At least one cable can extend through the elongated shaft and be anchored to the control member. The at least one cable can be configured to bend the bendable section based on a force applied thereto. At least one electronic component can be embedded in the distal tip component.

According to one embodiment, a bed system that is mechanically and electrically connectable to a main body of a medical image diagnosis apparatus includes a traveling unit and an interface. The traveling unit provided between the bed system and a floor surface. The interface configured to receive an operation of locking or unlocking driving of the traveling unit. The operation on the interface of locking or unlocking driving of the traveling unit is interlocked with electrical connection between the bed system and the main body.

The disclosed technology relates to examination or procedure tables and chairs which can be moved into positions in more efficient and desirable ways to better meet the needs of the patient and medical service providers. In particular, a plurality of actuators which cause the seat, leg rest and foot rest of the disclosed technologies to move may, if desired, be independently programmed to provide mechanically independent movement of the seat, leg rest and foot rest to desirable positions needed to provide ease of entry or transfer by the patient to the equipment including positioning the highest portion of the seat to a home or patient entry position no more than nineteen inches from the floor.

An accessory pad is selectively and removably mountable to a footrest of a medical examination device to fill in space between the footrest and seat cushion of the medical examination device and forms a substantially co-planar surface for patient support. The accessory pad has a body with upper and lower surfaces and at least one side. A recess configured to receive and restrain a portion of a footrest is formed in at least one of the lower surface and side of the body and may form a snug fit therewith. When installed, the upper surface of the accessory pad is substantially co-planar with the upper surface of the seat cushion. The accessory pad may also be adjacent to the seat cushion, forming a substantially continuous support surface with the seat cushion. Fastener(s) and restraint member(s) may be included to further secure the accessory pad in place.

There is provided herein an examination table that is capable of being converted to render either an examination configuration or a seating configuration. The table includes a planar table member having a suitable surface for the examination of a subject and is adjustable between a horizontal orientation for medical evaluation of the subject and a vertical orientation when in the table member is not in use for exams.

A system for moving a patient into and from a medical apparatus includes a patient support arranged outside a treatment space of a medical apparatus, a treatment table arranged inside the treatment space in the medical apparatus and a patient bed movable in a longitudinal direction from the patient support to the treatment table and back by activation of a transferring mechanism. The system may further include a coil arrangement including an anterior coil and a support stand, the support stand resting on the patient bed adjacent to longitudinal edges of the patient bed and being slidable along the patient bed in a longitudinal direction when a patient is placed on the bed.

A robotic knee testing apparatus including a robot configured to support a leg of a patient, a patient support configured to support the patient thereon, and a positioning system adjustably connected to the patient support and movable relative to the patient support, wherein the positioning system is movable to adjust a position of the robot so as to allow the patient to be situated in an orthostasis position between a distal edge of the patient support and the robot. The robotic knee testing apparatus can also include a positioning system that is adjustably connected to the patient support and movable relative to the patient support to adjust a vertical position of the robot relative to the patient support.
