Apparatus for positioning a lower limb of a patient during surgery and surgical positioning system comprising said apparatus

An apparatus for positioning a lower limb of a patient during surgery comprises at least one support structure connectable, through a proximal end, to a support device for a patient and defining a traction axis of the patient's lower limb, a traction slide slidingly movable on the support structure, a gripping body for a distal end of the patient's lower limb connectable to the traction slide. The support structure, when connected to the support device for a patient, is suspended and comprises at least one actuator, hydraulically connected with the traction slide, for moving the support structure in space.

PATIENT POSITIONING SUPPORT APPARATUS WITH FAIL-SAFE CONNECTOR ATTACHMENT MECHANISM

A patient support apparatus for supporting a patient in a prone position during a surgical procedure is provided, including an open fixed frame suspended above a floor and a pair of spaced opposed radially sliding joints cooperating with the frame, each joint including a virtual pivot point and an arc of motion spaced from the virtual pivot point, the joints being movable along the arc providing a pivot ship mechanism for a pair of pelvic pads attached to the joints. A base for supporting and suspending a patient support structure above the floor, for supporting a patient during a surgical procedure, the base including a pair of spaced opposed vertical translation subassemblies reversibly attachable to a patient support structure, a cross-bar, and a rotation subassembly having two degrees of rotational freedom; wherein a location of each vertical translation subassembly is substantially constant during operation of the patient support structure.

Systems and methods for maintaining patient position

Some systems, devices and methods detailed herein provide adjustable restraint device maintaining a selected position of a person relative to a support structure, for example, to maintain a safe and customizable patient position during a surgical procedure or during medical transport. For example, in particular embodiments, the adjustable restraint devices can be releasably lockable at a customized position along the surgical table and can be conveniently manipulated to a curved or other customized configuration (e.g., to engage with a patient's limb before being releasably locked into that particular customized configuration.

A surgical positioning system includes a platform assembly and an alignment post coupled to the platform assembly. The platform assembly has first and second members and an elevation assembly. The first member is supported on a surgical operating table. The second member is arranged over the first member and supports thereon a first portion of a patient undergoing surgery. The elevation assembly moves the second member with respect to the first member so as to change an elevation of the first portion of the patient. In some embodiments, a positioning member is coupled to the alignment post. The positioning member is inflatable between a deflated state and an inflated state in order to displace part of the patient thereon vertically and laterally. In some embodiments, the surgical positioning system can be used to position the anatomy of a patient during a hip replacement surgery.
