Patient support apparatus with body slide position digitally coordinated with hinge angle
An articulated patient support apparatus includes upper and lower body support frames hinged together to form a patient support assembly which is hinged to head and foot end supports. One end of the assembly includes a length compensator to enable hinged angulation between the body support frames. Hinge motors are connected between the frames to cause hinged articulation therebetween. One or both of the body support frames has a body slide assembly mounted thereon to enable part of a patient's body to move linearly along the particular body support frame by operation of a slide motor to compensate for hinged articulation of the frames. The hinge motors and slide motor have encoders interfaced to a controller to digitally coordinate sliding movement with hinging articulation.
MODULAR PATIENT POSITIONING SYSTEM
Multiple embodiments of a modular patient positioning system for use during surgical procedures are disclosed. In one exemplary embodiment the system comprises two hinged-together pegboards that can be used to support different portions of a patient's body in different planes. Pegs can be further used to retain portions of the patient's body in desired surgical positions. Additionally, a positioning member, such as a pad or cushion may be positioned over several pegs.
Adjustable lithotomy positioning apparatus with a limb rest
A limb support comprises a spar, a limb rest, and a coupler. The spar is configured to be supported from a patient support apparatus and adjustable relative to the patient support and has a longitudinal axis. The coupler includes a release that is selectively actuable to release locking mechanisms to permit adjustment of the limb rest relative to the spar.
Reconfigurable pelvic support for a surgical frame and method for use thereof
A surgical frame and method for use thereof is provided. The surgical frame is capable of reconfiguration before, during, or after surgery. The surgical frame includes a main beam that can be rotated, raised/lowered, and tilted upwardly/downwardly to afford positioning and repositioning of a patient supported thereon. The surgical frame also includes a pelvic support for supporting a patient during movement of the main beam. The pelvic support is articulable between at least a retracted first position where the pelvic support is withdrawn from the pelvic area of the patient, and an extended second position where the pelvic area is supported thereby.
ADJUSTABLE SUPPORT APPARATUS FOR A SURGERY TABLE
An adjustable support apparatus for a surgery table utilizing a platform having first and second end portions. First and second end supports are used to mount the platform which is adjusted by a carriage having a pawl operator. The carriage includes studs having support surfaces for the platform. A tower utilizing a gear rack interacts with the carriage pawl operator to position the platform relative to the first and second end support of the surgery table.
ADJUSTABLE RESTRAINT STRAP FOR A LIMB REST
A limb support comprises a spar, a limb rest, and a coupler. The spar is configured to be supported from a patient support apparatus and adjustable relative to the patient support and has a longitudinal axis. The coupler includes a release that is selectively actuable to release locking mechanisms to permit adjustment of the limb rest relative to the spar.
LIMB POSITIONING DISPOSABLES WITH INFLATABLE BLADDERS
An orthopedic limb interface device is disclosed for positioning and retaining a lower portion of the arm of the human body during orthopedic operatory procedures. The device includes a handplate coupled to a sleeve. The sleeve surrounds and grips the arm and is lined with an inflatable bladder. The bladder includes a plurality of inflatable zones, at least one zone having inflation limiting means such that the inflated bladder has a variable inflation profile therealong. The variable inflation profile is configured to increase retention at target areas of the limb, while softly retaining other areas of the limb to avoid limb numbness. Areas of increased retention may engage portions of the arm to improve the grip on the arm for reliable limb distraction.
RELEASABLE SPAR FOR SURGICAL BOOT
A boot stirrup for use with a surgical table is provided. The boot stirrup includes a support arm, a surgical boot, and a lockable joint coupled to the support arm and the surgical boot. The support arm is configured to couple to a surgical table for movement about a plurality of axes relative to the surgical table. The surgical boot is configured to support and/or immobilize the foot and leg of the patient. The lockable joint is configured to selectively permit movement of the surgical boot relative to the support arm.
RECONFIGURABLE UPPER LEG SUPPORT FOR A SURGICAL FRAME
A surgical frame and method for use thereof is provided. The surgical frame is capable of reconfiguration before, during, or after surgery. The surgical frame includes a main beam that can be rotated, raised/lowered, and tilted upwardly/downwardly to afford positioning and repositioning of a patient supported thereon. The surgical frame also includes a reconfigurable upper leg support for supporting portions of the upper legs, the hips, and the lower back of the patient to facilitate positioning and repositioning there during surgery. The upper leg support via reconfiguration thereof can accommodate patients of different sizes, can provide flexure of the patient's lumbar spine to facilitate surgical access thereto, and can prevent unwanted torsion of a patient's spine during such reconfiguration.
PERSON SUPPORT APPARATUSES FOR SUBJECT REPOSITIONING
Support pad assemblies and person support apparatuses are disclosed. A person support apparatus includes a base frame, a longitudinal frame coupled to the base frame, and a support deck supported on the longitudinal frame. The longitudinal frame extends in a longitudinal direction and the support deck is adjustable from a planar configuration to a concave configuration or a convex configuration.
