A mixing system and mixing method are provided. The mixing system includes a tank assembly, a container positioned within the tank assembly, a mixer disposed within a compartment of the container, a linear motor, and a shaft having a first end secured to the mixer and an opposing second end secured to the linear motor. The linear motor provides a variable stroke length for the shaft. The mixing method includes providing a tank assembly having a linear motor, positioning a mixing assembly including a mixing bag in the tank assembly, combining two or more components in a compartment of the mixing bag, attaching a mixing shaft extending from a mixer disposed within the mixing bag to the linear motor, and raising and lowering the mixing shaft to mix the two or more components. A stroke length of the mixing shaft during the raising and lowering is varied.

A system for preparing a medicament for use by a medicament user includes a proportioning machine with a controller and pumping and clamping actuators to engage a fluid circuit having pumping and clamping portions that engage with respective actuators of the proportioning machine. The fluid circuit includes a mixing container that is initially empty and later filled with two different concentrated medicaments from different concentrate containers and with purified water. The circuit may include one or more pre-connected fluid quality sensors, such as conductivity sensors, in fluid communication with the mixing container. The proportioning machine is configured to receive purified water and to mix it with the concentrated medicaments to produce a medicament and to output the medicament to a medicament consumer. Little or no mixed fluid is lost during conductivity testing and custom mini batches of medicament may be produced by varying the amount of the concentrates and water.

The present invention is directed to a fluid mixing system. In an embodiment, the fluid mixing system includes a first vessel; a second vessel disposed within the first vessel; a mixer disposed outside of the first vessel in fluid communication with the second vessel; and a media introduction port disposed outside of the first vessel in fluid communication with the mixer.

Method of homogenizing a liquid

Method of homogenizing a liquid, in particular a colorant for paint, in a container, comprising the steps of withdrawing liquid from the container at a first flow speed (S1) and then returning the liquid to the container at a second flow speed (S2), higher than the first flow speed (S1).

STIRRING DEVICE WITH A SHAFT, ADAPTED TO BE MOUNTED IN A FLUID-MIXING BIOREACTOR, AND METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING A STIRRING DEVICE

The stirring device, in particular for a fluid-mixing bioreactor, comprises a drive shaft including a rod, an agitating element and a sleeve of tubular shape. The sleeve forms a coupling sleeve receiving the shaft therethrough and is directly rotationally coupled to the rod. The agitating element, which has a hub with an annular side wall delimiting an inner space and an impeller assembly comprising blades, is indirectly rotationally coupled to the rod via the sleeve that is engaged in the inner space. One of an inner surface of the wall and an outer surface of the sleeve is a guiding surface with progressively reduced cross section. Axial movement between the hub and the sleeve is prevented in a locked configuration of a sleeve fastening arrangement. Hub-sleeve contact areas can be axially distributed.
