Surgical frame facilitating articulatable support for a patient during surgery

A positioning frame for supporting a patient to facilitate different surgical approaches to the spine includes a main support beam, first and second support structures, a torso-lift support, and a pelvic-tilt support. The main support beam has a first end, a second end, and a length extending between the first and second ends. The main support beam defines an axis of rotation relative to at least a first support structure and a second support structure, and the axis of rotation substantially corresponds to a cranial-caudal axis of the patient when the patient is supported on the positioning frame. The first and second support structures support the main support beam, and space the main support beam from the ground. The torso-lift support is attached to the main support beam, and is configured to pivot a chest support plate between at least a first position and a second position to move the torso of the patient between an unlifted position and a lifted position. The pelvic-tilt support is attached to the main support beam, and is configured to support the thighs and the lower legs of the patient. Portions of the pelvic-tilt support are pivotal with respect to one another to facilitate adjustment of the hips of the patient.

Patient support apparatus user interfaces

A patient support apparatus comprising a patient support deck operatively attached to a base with a deck section arranged for movement between first and second positions determined by a deck sensor. A first user interface comprises a screen configured to display visual content including a content portion having first and second content states. A second user interface comprises an access panel including a panel portion with a light module having first and second illumination states. A controller is configured to display the content portion in the first content state and to control the light module in the first illumination state when the deck sensor determines the deck section is in the first section position, and to display the content portion on the screen in the second content state and to control the light module in the second illumination state when the deck section is in the second position.

Medical device

Medical device capable of properly measuring a center of gravity and capable of preventing overturning of a surgical operation table is provided without performing a significant design change. Medical device S, which includes a plurality of leg portions 20 that lift up a main body 2 from a floor surface and support the main body 2, includes load detection devices 55 that are provided between the main body 2 and the respective leg portions 20, and detect loads in a vertical direction received by the leg portions 20 from the floor surface.

Surgical table base with high stiffness and adjustable support members with force feedback

Apparatus and methods for providing a surgical table base with sufficient stiffness and adjustable support members with force feedback are described herein. In some embodiments, a base for a surgical table includes a base body to which other components of a surgical table can be coupled. A surgical table, and optionally a patient supportable by the surgical table, and any equipment to be carried by the surgical table, collectively representing a table load to be carried by the base body to support the surgical table on a surface. The base further includes a support assembly coupled to the base body to support the base body on the surface. The support assembly includes at least four support members. Each support member has a surface-engaging end and can transmit a portion of a total load represented by the weight of the base and the table load through the surface-engaging end to the surface. The surface-engaging ends of any three of the four support members define a plane. One of the support members is adjustable to move the one support member relative to a plane defined by the three of the other support members and thereby to change the portion of the total load carried by one of the support members. The base further includes a load sensor operably coupled to the support assembly and disposed to detect the portion of the total load carried by one of the support members.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INTEGRATED SURGICAL TABLE

Integrated table motion includes a computer-assisted device. The computer-assisted device includes an articulated arm and a control unit coupled to the articulated arm. To support integrated motion with a table physically separate from and communicatively coupled to the computer-assisted device via a communications connection, the control unit is configured to receive a table movement request from a table command unit of the table, determine whether the table movement request should be allowed, and allow the table to perform the table movement request based on determining that the table movement request should be allowed.
