PAD ASSEMBLY, SYSTEM, METHOD OF PRE-LOAD POSITIONING OF PATIENT FOR MEDICAL PROCEDURE AND KIT
20170239118 · 2017-08-24 · ·

A pad assembly, system and method of securing a patient onto an operating table when the patient is in the Trendelenburg position. The pad assembly and system is used to support and hold a patient on a medical procedure table during a medical procedure performed while the table, and thus the patient lying thereon, is in an inclined position, such as the Trendelenburg position. The pad assembly and system has characteristics which promote improved securing to eliminate shifting and/or sliding due to gravitational forces when the patient's body is in the Trendelenburg position, as well as promote a secure holding of the patient in a desired position on the table, in order to minimize injury to the patient. The pad assembly and system further has improved channels to allow for drainage of fluids that may otherwise be trapped between the patient's body and the OR Table during the surgical procedure.

MEDICAL AIR TREATMENT DEVICE

An air treatment device having a flexible air hose, duct or gooseneck member. The air hose, duct or gooseneck member permits an inlet end thereof to be positioned in proximity to a patient so that a negative pressure can be created around the patient so that air can sucked or vacuumed into the system whereupon it is treated as the air flows through the system.

Relocation modules and methods for surgical field

Examples of a module for housing unrelated electronic and electromechanical equipment for use during surgery. The module can include a lower section and a tower-like upper section. The lower section can house unrelated electronic and electromechanical equipment. The tower-like upper section can be located on top of the lower section. A water-resistant cowling can enclose at least a portion of the lower section and the tower-like upper section. A cartridge containing one or more ultraviolet-C producing lights can be protectively housed within the tower-like upper section. The cartridge containing one or more ultraviolet-C producing lights can be configured to emerge upward from a top of the tower-like upper section to substantially seat itself on the top of the tower-like upper section when activated allowing the ultraviolet-C light to disinfect the patient and staff-contacting upper surfaces of the equipment in the operating room.

Method and apparatus to detect transponder tagged objects, for example during medical procedures

The presence or absence of objects (e.g., medical implements, medical supplies) tagged with transponders may be determined in an environment in which medical procedures (e.g., surgery) are performed via an interrogation and detection system which includes a controller and a plurality of antennas positioned along a patient support structure. The antennas may, for example, be positioned along an operating table, bed, a mattress or pad or a sheet and may be radiolucent. Respective antennas may successively be activated to transmit interrogation signals. Multiple antennas may be monitored for responses from transponders to the interrogation signals. For example, all antennas other than the antenna that transmitted the most recent interrogation signal may be monitored.

LIMB POSITIONING SYSTEM

A limb positioning system for positioning and maintaining immobilized a patient's limb in a desired position with respect to a surgical table during orthopedic surgery. The system includes: a pivoting member having a longitudinal portion extending along a corresponding longitudinal axis; a support member configured to support the patient's limb; the support member includes a support hooking part connected to the longitudinal portion and movable along the longitudinal portion; a clutch connected to the pivoting member having an open configuration and a locked configuration, wherein, in the open configuration, the clutch enables pivoting of the pivoting member around a rotation axis that is parallel to the longitudinal axis, distinct from the longitudinal axis, and wherein, in the locked configuration, the clutch allows immobilization of the pivoting member in the desired position; and at least one fixation member configured to maintain the system in position with respect to the surgical table.

Surgical support system

A surgical table extension comprises a frame and a connector. The frame includes a surgical table connecting portion, a first connector, and a second connector. The connector enabler is movably coupled to the frame and is configured to selectively enable one of the first connector and the second connector to be removably coupled with a support device.

GRIPPING CLAW FOR MOUNTING ON A SLIDE RAIL OF AN OPERATING TABLE

A clamping apparatus is disclosed. The clamping apparatus has a main body having at least one bearing surface designed to bear against the structural member of the operating table. The clamping apparatus also has a clamp assembly that is attached to the main body and has a first bearing member and a second bearing member. The clamping apparatus further has an actuating assembly that is operatively connected to the clamp assembly and that actuates the clamp assembly into a locked state in which the at least one bearing surface of the main body and the first and second bearing members of the clamp assembly bear against the structural member.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PERFORMING MEDICAL PROCEDURES AND FOR ACCESSING AND/OR MANIPULATING MEDICALLY RELEVANT INFORMATION

A system permits a medical practitioner to interact with medically relevant information during a medical procedure. The system comprises: a projector for projecting a user interface menu image onto a projection surface; a three-dimensional optical imaging system for capturing three-dimensional location information for objects in a sensing volume which includes the projection surface; and a controller connected to receive the three-dimensional location information from the three-dimensional optical imaging system and configured to interpret one or more gestures made by the practitioner in a space between the three-dimensional optical imaging system and the projection surface based on a location of the gesture relative to the projected user interface menu image. The controller is connectable to a display to cause the display to render images and is configured to cause the display to render an image comprising medically relevant information, the medically relevant information based at least in part on the interpreted gesture.
