Device 1 for mixing the contents of a tank 10 comprising a first pipe connecting body 20 arranged on a connecting flange 14 of a tank 10; a riser pipe 40 extending through the first pipe connecting body 20 into the tank; a mixing pipe 50 extending through said first pipe connecting body 20 into said tank; and a pump 60 whose outlet 64 can be connected at least to the mixing pipe 50 and whose inlet 62 can be connected both to the first pipe connecting body 20 and to the riser pipe 40. A method and apparatus for carbonating a liquid in a pressurizable vessel, including first connecting a vessel with a carbon dioxide tank, wherein said vessel contains a liquid. A vessel can then be pressurized with carbon dioxide to a desired first pressure. A pump is activated to circulate the liquid through a hose out of the vessel to a fitting assembly and out of the fitting assembly back into the vessel. While the liquid is flowing through the fitting assembly carbon dioxide is introduced to the liquid at a second pressure level, wherein the second pressure is greater than said first pressure. After a pre-determined period of time the pump is deactivated and the carbon dioxide can cease to be introduced to the liquid flowing through the fitting assembly.

A fluid handling apparatus for ejecting fluid into a tank and draining fluid from the tank comprises: a fluid duct for draining/supplying fluid from/to the tank, the fluid duct configured for fluid communication with a tank opening at a tank bottom; a fluid inlet pipe for supplying fluid to the tank, the fluid inlet pipe extending at least partly through the fluid duct and configured to extend through the tank opening into the tank; a rotary fluid ejection device in fluid communication with the fluid inlet pipe; and a rotary drive shaft extending at least partly inside the fluid inlet pipe, the rotary drive shaft being rotatably connected to the rotary fluid ejection device. A system and method of controlling a concentration of one or more gases dissolved in a beverage is disclosed. The system includes a saturation tank having a gas head space, a brite tank, and a beverage supply system to pass the beverage between the saturation tank and the brite tank. A beverage supersaturated with the gas from the head space is formed in the saturation tank. The supersaturated beverage is passed from the saturation tank to the brite tank. Once the amount of gas added to the beverage exceeds saturation, some of the gas escapes from solution from the beverage and the pressure in the brite tank increases. Once the pressure within the brite tank reaches a pre-defined pressure, a pump supplying the beverage to the saturation tank is shut-off and the inlet and outlet valves of the brite tank are closed.
