DEVICE FOR DISTRIBUTING A POLYPHASE MIXTURE IN A CHAMBER CONTAINING A FLUIDIZED MEDIUM
Device for distributing a light fluid phase (2) in a heavy phase (4) in the fluidized state in a reaction chamber (5), comprising: a pipe (1) for transporting the light fluid phase; first and second windows (7, 8) created in the pipe, the second windows opening into the reaction chamber; and branches (6) extending each first window and splitting into: a central passage opening into the reaction chamber via an intermediate window (9) created in the upper wall of the branch (6); and at least two distinct lateral branches forming two lateral passages (10) opening into the reaction chamber via end-of-branch windows (11).
NANOPARTICULATE-AEROSOL GENERATOR AND METHOD FOR CONTINUOUSLY GENERATING AEROSOLS, ASSOCIATED WITH SAID GENERATOR
The object of the present invention relates to a nanoparticulate aerosol generator comprising a compressed gas reservoir (1) connected to a nanoparticulate material receptacle (2) through an operational valve (8), wherein said receptacle (2) comprises an outlet hole (3) for the aerosol. Advantageously, the outlet of said nanoparticulate material receptacle (2) is connected to or inserted into a pressurized aerosol distribution chamber (4) equipped with a hole (9) for the exit of said aerosol out of the chamber (4). The invention provides the possibility of using different types of nanoparticles with sizes less than 100 nanometers continuously over time during long production periods of more than three hours. The invention also relates to a method for continuously generating nanoparticulate aerosols associated with the mentioned generator.
Method for loading pellets
A method for loading pellets into receptacles having an open top end and a bottom end uses a pressurized fluid injected through injector tubing to form virtual blankets at a plurality of elevations inside the receptacle to reduce the acceleration of the falling pellets in order to provide gentle loading of the pellets.
Systems and methods for converter bed unloading and loading
A system and method for loading material from a converter bed, such as that in a converter of an acid plant, is provided. The system, may include a vacuum source; a dust collector connected to the vacuum source by a first vacuum hose; a cyclone operatively connected to the vacuum source through the dust collector, wherein the cyclone may be connected to the dust collector by a second vacuum hose; a drop-out hopper operatively attached to the cyclone by a valve, such as an air actuated valve, wherein the drop-out hopper includes a first feed hose; and one or more material storage containers operatively associated with the cyclone via a second feed hose. The method of loading material into a converter bed may include providing a system for loading the material in the converter bed; setting up the system; and loading the material into the converter bed.
Elimination of polymer fouling in fluidized bed gas-phase fines recovery eductors
An eductor, a process and apparatus for gas phase polymerization of olefins in a polymerization reactor are disclosed. The process and apparatus employ an eductor which has an inlet which makes a bend of less than about 90 toward the outlet after entering the mixing chamber of the eductor.
Temporary addition or injection system
A temporary addition or injection system installed without the need for civil work comprising: one or more silos mounted on a trailer; optionally one or more transfer pots; and one or more control systems, wherein the one or more transfer pots and the one or more control systems are either (a) directly or indirectly connected to the one or more silos mounted on the trailer or (b) mounted adjacent to the one or more silos mounted on the trailer.
PLUG SUITABLE TO BE INSERTED INTO A REFILL-OPENING ON A TUBE AND HYDROCARBON PROCESSING PLANT
A plug suitable to be inserted into a refill-opening on a tube, whereby the plug is at least partially made of a refractory material, preferably of firebrick.
In-line trimming of dry catalyst feed
A process for polymerizing polyethylene is disclosed. The process comprises contacting ethylene and at least one comonomer with a catalyst system to produce a polyolefin. The first catalyst and at least a portion of the second catalyst are co-supported to form a commonly-supported catalyst system. The catalyst system is introduced to a line as a dry-feed. The line is coupled with a polymerization reactor. A carrier fluid is added to the line to form a slurry. The slurry is introduced to the polymerization reactor.
CATALYST UNLOADING OF TUBULAR REACTORS
Embodiments of the invention are directed to a device and a method for unloading particulate material from a reactor in tube of a catalytic reactor comprising an array of substantially vertically aligned reactor tubes. The device comprises an air lance (11, 111-113) for loosening the particulate material inside the reactor tube using pressurized air, an air lance unit (10) for feeding the air lance in and out of the reactor tube, and a flexible guide tube (12, 121-123) on one end connectable to the air lance unit and on the other end connectable to a cleaned reactor tube (7, 71-73) for guiding the air lance from the reactor tube to the cleaned reactor tube for storing a part of the air lance that has not been fed into the reactor tube within the first cleaned reactor tube.
Device for handling catalyst and other material in a reactor vessel
This invention relates to a robotic device 10.1, 10.2 and method for handling catalyst material 106, 206 in a reactor 100 by removing spent catalyst from the reactor and/or loading the reactor with fresh catalyst without an operator having to enter an interior of the reactor which increases operator safety. The robotic device includes a body 12, which is configured to engage a flange 104 of the reactor, and a handling arm which is configured for use both as a cleaning arm 18 and a loading arm 218. The handling arm is connected to the body and is angularly and longitudinally displaceable relative to the body. The handling arm has a segment which is telescopically extendible/retractable relative to the body. When used as a cleaning arm, the arm receives a vacuum line for removing catalyst. When used as a loading arm, a telescopic loading sleeve is connected to the segment.
