MULTITUBULAR REACTOR FOR LIQUID PHASE ALCOHOL DEHYDROGENATION AND METHOD FOR LIQUID PHASE ALCOHOL DEHYDROGENATION
The invention relates to a multitubular reactor for dehydrogenation of liquid phase alcohol dehydrogenation and a method of liquid phase alcohol dehydrogenation. Most of the alcohol dehydrogenation reaction is endothermic reaction, the reaction temperature is high and the equilibrium conversion rate is low.
BARRIER ASSEMBLY
A barrier assembly used in the protection of personnel at worksites and/or residential areas from escapes of gas. Such a barrier assembly controls the lateral and vertical spread of gas in the event of an escape of the gas, even more particularly toxic gas. The barrier assembly can be used at operating sites where gases are produced, and, in particular, where high concentrations of toxic gases like CO.sub.2, H.sub.2S, SO.sub.2, and mercaptans are present. The barrier assembly can also act as a safety system in the event of an accidental uncontrolled release of these toxic gases into the atmosphere.
Scallop support distributor for radial flow reactor
The invention provides a support distributor for a scallop for use in a radial flow reactor. The support distributor includes an elongated sheet having a plurality of perforations extending through a thickness thereof, and at least three edges along a length thereof so as to form a member having at least three support points which engage an inner surface of the scallop.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPROVING FLOW IN RADIAL FLOW REACTOR
A scallop, center pipe, and outer basket for use in a radial flow reactor are provided. Each of the scallop, the center pipe, and the outer basket is formed of an elongated conduit having a top end and an opposing bottom end, and a plurality of openings formed in the elongated conduit through a thickness thereof. A diameter of the plurality of openings progressively increases or decreases from the top end to the opposing bottom end of the elongated conduit so as to allow a feedstock to flow radially out through the plurality of openings on the scallop or outer basket, or to allow a feedstock to flow uniformly into the center pipe through the plurality of openings. A system utilizing the center pipe together with either the scallop or the outer basket is also provided.
TRANSFER LINE
A transfer line between the outlet of a steam cracker and the inlet for the quench system has metallic or ceramic inserts having a pore size from about 0.001 to about 0.5 microns inside the line forming a gas tight barrier with the inner surface of the line and having a vent for the resulting gas tight pocket are used to separate H.sub.2, CH.sub.4, CO and CO.sub.2 from cracked gases reducing the load on the down-stream separation train of the steam cracker.
ZEOLITE MEMBRANE COMPLEX, MEMBRANE REACTOR, AND METHOD OF PRODUCING ZEOLITE MEMBRANE COMPLEX
A zeolite membrane complex includes a porous support and a zeolite membrane made of an LTA-type zeolite and formed on the support. The zeolite membrane has a Si/Al molar ratio of higher than or equal to 1.74 and lower than or equal to 2.80, or the zeolite membrane has a Si/Al molar ratio of higher than or equal to 1.2 and, in an X-ray diffraction pattern obtained by X-ray irradiation of the surface of the zeolite membrane, at least either a peak intensity around 2?=24.0? or a peak intensity around 2?=30.0? is 0.85 times or more a peak intensity around 2?=7.2?.
Catalytic membranes and applications thereof
In one aspect, catalytic membranes are described herein. In some embodiments, a catalytic membrane comprises a surface functionalized with a polymer, the polymer comprising cellulose solubilization functionalities and acid functionalities for the catalytic hydrolysis of cellulose and/or hemicellulose.
Device for facilitating a chemical reaction
A device for facilitating a chemical reaction that includes an upper member, a lower member, and a dissolvable member disposed between them such that upper and lower chambers are formed having substantially equal volumes. The upper chamber receives a dry sodium chlorite and the lower chamber receives a dry acid mixture. The upper and lower members are joined, thereby sealing the upper and lower chambers and enabling the joined upper and lower members to be disposed in water such that said lower member engages the water first. The joined upper and lower members swell with absorbed water to engage the dry sodium chlorite and the dry acid mixture to form slurries to dissolve the dissolvable member to allow the slurries to react to generate chlorine dioxide gas that passes through the upper and lower members and into a space to be disinfected and/or deodorized.
Start-up system for starting reforming hydrogen production device
The invention discloses a start-up system for starting reforming hydrogen production device, the reforming hydrogen production device and the start-up system adopt methanol-water mixture as feedstock, comprising a feed riser pipe, a flame tray, an upper cover body and an igniter. The flame tray and the upper cover body are disposed on the feed riser pipe from the bottom up; the middle part of the upper cover body is provided with an aperture in communication with the feed riser pipe, the methanol-water mixture feedstock may flow from the feed riser pipe up to the aperture and be exuded from the aperture and spread around along the upper side surface of the upper cover body until flowing into the flame tray. The present invention has high ignition success rate, large methanol-water mixture burning areas and combustion flame, and can quickly restart the reforming hydrogen production device.
