Catalyst preparation systems and methods for preparing reduced chromium catalysts are disclosed, and can comprise irradiating a supported chromium catalyst containing hexavalent chromium with a light beam having a wavelength within the UV-visible light spectrum. Such reduced chromium catalysts have improved catalytic activity compared to chromium catalysts reduced by other means. The use of the reduced chromium catalyst in polymerization reactor systems and olefin polymerization processes also is disclosed, resulting in polymers with a higher melt index.

The present application relates to a process for dehydrogenating organic molecules (OM) in a reaction vessel by means of an inductive field, wherein the reaction vessel and its contents are free of platinum, palladium, rhodium, gold, iridium, titanium, tantalum or ruthenium.

The present invention further relates to a process and to a corresponding reaction vessel for dehydrogenating organic molecules (OM), said process having the following steps: a) feeding the organic molecules (OM) into a reaction vessel (RB), where the reaction vessel i) has been provided with a device for generating an inductive field (IF); and ii) comprises a solid loose material (FLM), b) applying an inductive field (IF) and allowing the inductive field (IF) to act on the solid loose material (FLM) and the organic molecules (OM), c) removing the hydrogen from the reaction vessel (RB) during and/or after step b), d) removing the dehydrogenated organic molecules (DOM) from the reaction vessel (RB) during and/or after step b), for example during step c), wherein the solid loose material (FLM) is such that it can couple magnetically to the inductive field (IF) and consists of a metal (M) or metal alloy (ML) which can couple magnetically to the inductive field (IF) or has an outer layer (Sch) comprising or consisting of a metal (M) or metal alloy (ML) and the reaction vessel is such that the solid loose material (FLM) can couple to the inductive field (IF) and the solid loose material (FLM) comes into contact with the organic molecules (OM).

Disclosed is a solution polymerization process, or, alternatively, a method of delivering powder catalysts to a solution polymerization reactor, comprising combining a homogeneous single-site catalyst precursor with α-olefin monomers to form a polyolefin, wherein the homogeneous single-site catalyst precursor is in the form of (i) a dry powder, (ii) suspended in a aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent, or (iii) suspended in an oil or wax, wherein the homogeneous single-site catalyst precursor is at a concentration greater than 0.8 mmole/liter when suspended in the aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent prior to entering the solution polymerization reactor.

A fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) process for cracking multiple feedstocks in a FCC apparatus comprising a first set of feed distributors having first distributor tips and a second set of feed distributors having second distributor tips is provided. A first feed is injected into the riser from first distributor tips. A second feed is injected into the riser from second distributor tips. The first distributor tips and the second distributor tips are positioned at different radii in the riser. The first feed and the second feed are cracked in the riser in the presence of an FCC catalyst to provide a cracked effluent stream. The first distributor tips and the second distributor tips are located into a region of lower catalyst density and a region of higher catalyst density respectively in the riser.
