Chemical looping syngas production from carbonaceous fuels
A reactor configuration is proposed for selectively converting gaseous, liquid or solid fuels to a syngas specification which is flexible in terms of H.sub.2/CO ratio. This reactor and system configuration can be used with a specific oxygen carrier to hydro-carbon fuel molar ratio, a specific range of operating temperatures and pressures, and a co-current downward moving bed system. The concept of a CO.sub.2 stream injected in-conjunction with the specified operating parameters for a moving bed reducer is claimed, wherein the injection location in the reactor system is flexible for both steam and CO.sub.2 such that, carbon efficiency of the system is maximized.

PROCESSES FOR COMMENCING OPERATIONS OF FLUIDIZED CATALYTIC REACTOR SYSTEMS
A process for commencing a continuous reaction in a reactor system includes introducing a catalyst to a catalyst processing portion of the reactor system, the catalyst initially having a first temperature of 500 C or less, and contacting the catalyst at the first temperature with a commencement fuel gas stream, which includes at least 80 mol % commencement fuel gas, in the catalyst processing portion. Contacting of the catalyst with the commencement fuel gas stream causes combustion of the commencement fuel gas. The process includes maintaining the contacting of the catalyst with the commencement fuel gas stream until the temperature of the catalyst increases from the first temperature to a second temperature at which combustion of a regenerator fuel source maintains an operating temperature range in the catalyst processing portion.
Reactor system with unequal reactor assembly operating pressures
A reactor system comprising a first reactor assembly, a first pressure transition assembly, a second reactor assembly and a second pressure transition assembly.
PRODUCTION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GENERATING HYDROGEN GAS AND CARBON PRODUCTS
A production system includes a first reaction chamber and a second reaction chamber. The first reaction chamber is configured to receive a first hydrocarbon stream therein through an input port and to form carbon seeds and hydrogen gas therein via hydrocarbon pyrolysis of the first hydrocarbon stream. The second reaction chamber includes a first input port and a second input port. The second reaction chamber is configured to receive the carbon seeds through the first input port and a second hydrocarbon stream through the second input port, and to form carbon product elements and additional hydrogen gas in the second reaction chamber via hydrocarbon pyrolysis of the second hydrocarbon stream. The carbon product elements represent the carbon seeds with additional carbon structure grown on the carbon seeds.
Apparatus and process for contacting catalyst with a gas and reduction
A process and apparatus is disclosed for distributing a gas stream into a downwardly flowing catalyst stream in a vessel by feeding the gas stream into a center of the vessel or the catalyst stream into a hollow cap. The gas stream enters the cap and exits the cap flowing upwardly to contact the catalyst stream.

CONTINUOUS PROCESSING CHAMBERS
This disclosure is directed to a continuous processing chamber that includes: a material shaft through which the material introduced by an inlet may be transported and discharged through an outlet; optionally an inner gas transfer tube in fluid communication with the material shaft with an inner filtration wall that encases at least a portion of the inner gas transfer tube and is in fluid communication with both the material shaft and the inner gas transfer tube; optionally an outer filtration wall that encases at least a portion of the material shaft and is in fluid communication with the material shaft and associated with an outer gas transfer tube. The continuous processing chamber may be incorporated into methods for treating the material to produce a lithiated product.
