Heat exchanger type reaction tube
A heat exchanger type reaction tube includes a first tube part that forms a first flow channel into which a feed gas flows and in which the feed gas moves down; a second tube part that forms a second flow channel which is connected to the first flow channel and in which the feed gas moves up and that has a granular catalyst carrying support medium charged therein; and a heating device that heats the first tube part and the second tube part. Then, the first flow channel and the second flow channel are adjacent to each other while being separated from each other by a partition wall, and the second flow channel is provided with a distributor which holds the catalyst carrying support medium and through which the feed gas passes.

The present invention relates to a gas distribution unit for a fluidized bed reactor system, a fluidized bed reactor system having the gas distribution unit, and a method for preparing granular polysilicon using the fluidized bed reactor system. The gas distribution unit for a fluidized bed reactor system according to the present invention enables gas flow rate control and gas composition control for each zone within the plenum chamber. In addition, a fluidized bed reactor system having the gas distribution unit enables shape control of a fluidized bed (in particular, transition between a bubbling fluidized bed and a spout fluidized bed). The method for preparing granular polysilicon using the fluidized bed reactor system not only simultaneously improves process stability and productivity, but also enables more flexible handling in the event of an abnormal situation.
Universal chemical processor with radioisotope source
A universal chemical processor (UCP) including a reactor vessel having a central longitudinal axis and main chamber comprises a first inlet port for a main feedstock, a second inlet port for a fluidizing medium and a third inlet port for one or more reactants. The UCP also includes a reactive radioactive chemical processor (R.sup.2CP) that contains a radioactive element positioned extending along the longitudinal axis in the main chamber. In operation, a fluidized bed can be supported in the main chamber when a fluidizing medium and feedstock are supplied to the main chamber through the first and second inlet ports and the radioactive element of the R.sup.2CP emits ionizing radiation that is capable of ionizing feedstock and reactants, inducing chemical reactions, and sterilizing and decomposing any organic materials within a radiation zone.
System and method of producing a composite product
A method of producing a composite product is provided. The method includes providing a fluidized bed of metal oxide particles in a fluidized bed reactor, providing a catalyst or catalyst precursor in the fluidized bed reactor, providing a carbon source in the fluidized bed reactor for growing carbon nanotubes, growing carbon nanotubes in a carbon nanotube growth zone of the fluidized bed reactor, and collecting a composite product comprising metal oxide particles and carbon nanotubes.
Bubbling Fluidized Bed Reactor
Various aspects provide for a multistage fluidized bed reactor, particularly comprising a volatilization stage and a combustion stage. The gas phases above the bed solids in the respective stages are separated by a wall. An opening (e.g., in the wall) provides for transport of the bed solids from the volatilization stage to the combustion stage. Active control of the gas pressure in the two stages may be used to control residence time. Various aspects provide for a fuel stream processing system having a pretreatment reactor, a combustion reactor, and optionally a condensation reactor. The condensation reactor receives a volatiles stream volatilized by the volatilization reactor. The combustion reactor receives a char stream resulting from the removal of the volatiles by the volatilization reactor.
Fluidizing Device and Method for Treating Particulate Material
A fluidizing device for treating particulate material and to a method using the fluidizing device. The fluidizing device includes an inflow base that can be moved relative to the fluidizing unit. The inflow base in an emptying position is positioned at least partly below the top edge of a material outlet by moving the inflow base relative to the fluidizing unit, so that a fluid connection is formed between the material outlet arranged in the distributor chamber and the fluidizing chamber past the inflow base in order to discharge treated material from the fluidizing unit.
Process and apparatus for distributing fuel and air to a catalyst regenerator
An oxygen gas stream is distributed to a spent catalyst stream through an oxygen nozzle of an oxygen gas distributor and a fuel gas stream is distributed to the spent catalyst stream through a fuel nozzle of a fuel gas distributor. An oxygen gas jet generated from said oxygen nozzle and a fuel gas jet generated from said fuel gas nozzle have the same elevation in the regenerator. In a regenerator, an oxygen gas distributor and a fuel gas distributor may be located in a mixing chamber. A fuel outlet of a fuel nozzle of the fuel gas distributor may be within a fifth of the height of the mixing chamber from an oxygen outlet of an oxygen nozzle of the oxygen gas distributor. In addition, clear space is provided between a fuel gas nozzle on a fuel gas distributor and a closest oxygen nozzle on an oxygen gas distributor.
