20230105517 · 2023-04-06 ·

An adjustable fence-top trellis support bracket assembly forms the basis of a system for creating adjustable trellises on two sides of a fence or wall, and includes a) an elongated support bracket member, b) curved-loop ends on the elongated bar member and the adjoining bracket portion wherein one is attached proximal one end and the other proximal an opposite end of an elongated bar member; c) a movable L-shaped leg generally perpendicular to an elongated bar member of the elongated support bracket portion, wherein the movable leg is engagable with the elongated support bracket member; and d) a means for adjusting and then securing the movable L-shaped leg against the elongated bar portion of the support bracket member.

Maintaining populations of natural enemies on plants

Methods and platforms are provided for maintaining a population of natural enemies on plants, prior and/or parallel to an occurrence of respective prey pests, by associating with the plants platform(s) comprising mechanical support(s) with attached feeding elements for the natural enemies. The platform may be configured to keep the feeding elements close to but not on the plants, protecting them and enhancing the distribution efficiency and life time, while maintaining good availability of the feeding elements to the natural enemies. Various features may enhance supporting the natural enemies' population prior and/or parallel to the occurrence of the pest prey such as olfactory and/or visual cues to the feeding elements as well as sheltering elements such as artificial domatia on the surface of the mechanical support—to enhance biological pest control. Moreover, methods for preparing decapsulated Artemia cysts as feed for predatory arthropods are provided.

Adjustable Height Topiary
20230200306 · 2023-06-29 ·

A topiary arrangement with foliage tiers having stems that are telescopic with respect to each other in order to achieve desired spacings between the foliage tiers. Each foliage tier includes a spherical foliage bundle with a tubular stem extending downwardly therefrom. Successive tiers of the foliage tiers have tubular stems that are somewhat different in diameters so that the stems are telescopic with respect to neighbor stems. A respective O-ring is stretched around the foliage stem to function as an adjustment mechanism to space the tiers from each other a desired distance. When one tubing stem is inserted into an underlying tubing stem, the O-ring on the upper tubing stem can be adjusted thereon so that the tubular stem telescopes downwardly only a desired distance within the underlying tubing stem, thus making the foliage tiers individually adjustable as to spacing therebetween.

The present application discloses a support apparatus having: (a) pole, aligned in an approximately vertical orientation when in use, and a cross section, wherein the pole comprises one or more pairs of diametrically opposed holes, positioned along the length of the pole; (b) a unitary open hoop, approximately in a plane, comprising an elastic material; and further comprising: a first end portion an a second end portion; wherein when in use, the hoop is compressed so that the first end portion and the second end portion are urged past each other to form a parallel locus; and wherein when the hoop is compressed, the first end portion and the second end portion are formed as if bent to mate with and apply an opposed tension to a pair of diametrically opposed holes in the pole; and wherein when the hoop is compressed, the parallel locus engages with the pole to impede the vertical swing of the hoop.

Portable Suspended Trellis and Planter System

A trellis and planter system comprising an upper support member that is suspended below a support surface, a lower support member in spaced apart relation to and positioned below the upper support member, a trellis disposed between and interconnecting the upper and lower support members and a planter suspended below the lower support member. Preferably, each of the upper and lower support members and the planter are elongated and the trellis is substantially flat. Support devices engage and suspend the upper support member, and therefore the system, in an easily removable manner so the system and plants can be moved without harm to the plants. Planter support devices position the planter below the lower support member such that the plants grow upwardly and are supported by the trellis. Water can be delivered to the upper support member so as to drip or spray onto the plants.
