CATALYST STRUCTURE FOR SYNTHESIS GAS PRODUCTION, SYNTHESIS GAS PRODUCTION APPARATUS, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CATALYST STRUCTURE FOR SYNTHESIS GAS PRODUCTION

A catalyst structure for synthesis gas production of a synthesis gas that contains carbon monoxide and hydrogen, the catalyst structure being provided with a carrier that has a porous structure, while being configured from a zeolite type compound; first catalyst particles that contain one or more iron group elements which are selected from the group consisting of nickel (Ni), iron (Fe) and cobalt (Co); and second catalyst particles that contain one or more platinum group elements which are selected from the group consisting of platinum (Pt), palladium (Pd), rhodium (Rh) and ruthenium (Ru). The catalyst structure for synthesis gas production has passages in communication with each other within the carrier. The first catalyst particles are present at least in the passages of the carrier; and the second catalyst particles are present at least either inside the carrier or on the outer surface of the carrier.

The present invention relates to a process for preparing a cobalt-containing Fischer-Tropsch synthesis catalyst with good physical properties and high cobalt loading. In one aspect, the present invention provides a process for preparing a supported cobalt-containing Fischer-Tropsch synthesis catalyst, said process comprising the following steps of: (a) impregnating a support powder or granulate with a cobalt-containing compound; (b) calcining the impregnated support powder or granulate and extruding to form an extrudate; or extruding the impregnated support powder or granulate to form an extrudate and calcining the extrudate; and (c) impregnating the calcined product with a cobalt-containing compound; or forming a powder or granulate of the calcined product, impregnating with a cobalt-containing compound and extruding to form an extrudate.

A process for preparing a catalyst comprises coating substantial internal surfaces of porous inorganic powders with titanium oxide to form titanium oxide-coated inorganic powders. After the coating, an extrudate comprising the titanium oxide-coated inorganic powders is formed and calcined to form a catalyst support. Then, the catalyst support is impregnated with a solution containing one or more salts of metal selected from the group consisting of molybdenum, cobalt, and nickel.

The present invention relates to a monolith catalyst for carbon-dioxide/methane reforming and a method of manufacturing the same, and more particularly to a novel monolith catalyst for a reforming reaction having improved thermal durability, configured such that a sintering inhibiting layer is formed by coating the surface of a monolith support with at least one element selected from the group consisting of Group 2, 3, 6, 13, 15 and 16 elements among elements in Period 3 or higher and an active catalyst layer is formed on the sintering inhibiting layer, thereby preventing carbon deposition and catalyst deactivation due to deterioration even upon reaction at high temperatures.

Direct catalytic conversion of alcohols to olefins of higher carbon number with reduced ethylene production

A catalyst composition for converting an alcohol to olefins, the catalyst composition comprising the following components: (a) a support (e.g., particles) comprising silicon and oxygen; (b) at least one of copper and silver residing on and/or incorporated into said support; and (c) at least one lanthanide element residing on and/or incorporated into said support. Also described herein is a method for converting an alcohol to one or more olefinic compounds (an olefin fraction) by contacting the alcohol with a catalyst at a temperature of at least 100° C. and up to 500° C. to result in direct conversion of the alcohol to an olefin fraction containing one or more olefinic compounds containing at least three carbon atoms; wherein ethylene and propylene are produced in a minor proportion of the olefin fraction, and butenes and higher olefins are produced in major proportion.

Copper CHA zeolite catalysts

Zeolite catalysts and systems and methods for preparing and using zeolite catalysts having the CHA crystal structure are disclosed. The catalysts can be used to remove nitrogen oxides from a gaseous medium across a broad temperature range and exhibit hydrothermal stable at high reaction temperatures. The zeolite catalysts include a zeolite carrier having a silica to alumina ratio from about 15:1 to about 256:1 and a copper to alumina ratio from about 0.25:1 to about 1:1.

(1) providing at least one noble metal powder consisting of at least substantially spherical noble metal particles, and

(2) repeatedly applying the noble metal powder or powders provided in step (1) in layers to a substrate in a build chamber, respectively followed by an at least partial melting of the respective noble metal powder applied as a layer with high-energy radiation, and allowing the melted noble metal powder to solidify within the scope of additive manufacturing.

METHOD OF PREPARING THE WATER-GAS SHIFT CATALYST, CATALYST, USE AND PROCESS TO REDUCE THE CONTENT OF CARBON MONOXIDE

The present invention addresses to catalysts applicable to the conversion of CO to CO.sub.2 and H.sub.2 by the water-gas shift reaction. Such catalysts are made up of iron oxides, zirconium oxides, cerium oxides or a mixture of the same, promoted by platinum (Pt) contents between 0.1 and 0.4% m/m and with a sodium (Na) content below 0.01% m/m, based on the oxidized material. The present invention makes it possible to obtain catalysts with a high dispersion of Pt, with metallic particles of the order of 1 nm and methods of preparation by coprecipitation of soluble salts in aqueous medium using ammonium hydroxide as a precipitating agent.

Catalysts and processes for the direct production of liquid fuels from carbon dioxide and hydrogen

Embodiments of the present invention relates to two improved catalysts and associated processes that directly converts carbon dioxide and hydrogen to liquid fuels. The catalytic converter is comprised of two catalysts in series that are operated at the same pressures to directly produce synthetic liquid fuels or synthetic natural gas. The carbon conversion efficiency for CO.sub.2 to liquid fuels is greater than 45%. The fuel is distilled into a premium diesel fuels (approximately 70 volume %) and naphtha (approximately 30 volume %) which are used directly as “drop-in” fuels without requiring any further processing. Any light hydrocarbons that are present with the carbon dioxide are also converted directly to fuels. This process is directly applicable to the conversion of CO.sub.2 collected from ethanol plants, cement plants, power plants, biogas, carbon dioxide/hydrocarbon mixtures from secondary oil recovery, and other carbon dioxide/hydrocarbon streams. The catalyst system is durable, efficient and maintains a relatively constant level of fuel productivity over long periods of time without requiring re-activation or replacement.
