Optical sensing-based inventory control systems and methods

An inventory tracking system includes storage modules that hold one or more items. Each item is positionable at locations within the storage modules independent of physical characteristics of the item. Inventory monitoring modules are included to monitor storage modules for adding an item, retrieving an item, consuming of the item, returning an unused item, discarding at least a portion of a consumed item, or combinations thereof. Each act is used to determine information about items utilized in the act, including the location within the storage modules of the items. Each storage module updates a central inventory database about a location of the storage module, a revised inventory of the items stored within the storage modules, or both. The location of the storage modules, the revised inventory of the items stored within the storage modules, or both, is used to order a replenishment of the items held within the storage modules.

BED HAVING FEATURES FOR AUTOMATIC SENSING OF ILLNESS STATES

A bed has a mattress. One or more sensors are configured to sense one or more physical phenomena of a sleeper on the bed and generate data signals based on the sensed physical phenomena; and send, to a computing system, the data signals. A computing system comprising one or more processors and computer memory. The computing system is configured to: receive the data signals; generate, from data signals of a sleep-session of the sleeper, a feature vector of features, each feature having a feature value that represents one of the physical phenomena; and classify the sleeper into a classified physical state for the sleep session based on the feature vector.

A heatable optical element for a compound lens, the optical element being adapted to (i) provide a focusing function for the compound lens and (ii) be heated by resistive heating upon application of electricity to the heatable optical element. The compound lens including the heatable optical element may be employed in a camera, with the heatable optical element being the most distal optical element from a light sensor of the camera. A method for operating such a camera comprises detecting a present condition of the distal-most element and controlling application of electricity to control heating of the distal-most element in response to the detected present condition of the distal-most element.

A method for cleaning and sterilizing an excreta handling device includes: positioning one end and the other end of the suction pipe on the same line; driving the pump to supply the cleaning water to a preset water level in the inner space through the first nozzle part; and maintaining, for a predetermined time, a state in which the cleaning water has been supplied to the preset water level, and then driving the suction part to suck the cleaning water contained in the inner space.

ASSISTANCE SYSTEM

An assistance system includes a storage section configured to store usage record data in which usage information as to a use of an assistance device configured to assist an operation of a care receiver is recorded in association with time information as to a date and time when the assistance device is used and user identification information used to identify a user using the assistance device, an extracting section configured to extract the usage information and the time information as to a specific user based on the user identification information included in the usage record data, and a display section configured to display a time series change in the usage information as to the specific user in a graspable manner.

SLEEPING EQUIPMENT

Sleeping equipment includes: a mat body including a middle support portion configured to support buttocks of a user, an upper support portion configured to support a back and head of the user, and a lower support portion configured to support thighs of the user; a movable mechanism configured to switch the mat body between a bed mode in which the mat body has a flat shape in which the middle support portion, the upper support portion, and the lower support portion are continuous with each other and a comfortable mode in which the upper support portion and the lower support portion are tilted upward with respect to the middle support portion; and a lower back pressing mechanism configured to cause a part of the upper support portion corresponding to a lower back of the user in the comfortable mode to bulge out toward the user.

Delayed cord clamping system

A delayed cord-clamping surface is provided that includes a newborn platform having a recessed surface configured to receive a chemical warming mattress, where the chemical warming mattress includes a conformable surface, where the newborn platform includes a detachable platform support that is configured to position the newborn platform proximal to a surgical region of a C-section patient, where the newborn platform is configured to support a newborn baby while an umbilical cord remains connected between the newborn and the C-section patient for draining from a placenta, where the newborn platform is configured to fitably mount with a warming table when the newborn platform is in a detached state from the detachable platform support.

MONITOR TO DETECT A PATIENT'S SLEEP STATE AND MOVEMENT

A patient support apparatus comprises a plurality of load cells, a frame, a mattress, a plurality sensors, and a control system. The mattress includes a plurality of inflatable zones positioned on the frame, the mattress and frame cooperating to direct any patient load through the mattress and frame to the load cells. Each of the plurality of a sensors measures the pressure in a respective inflatable zone of the mattress. The control system includes a controller operable to receive a separate signal from each of the plurality of sensors, and a physiological sensor, process the signals to identify movement data and sleep data and to display the movement data and sleep date on a segmented screen on a user interface.
