Active thermo-regulated neonatal transportable incubator
The present invention provides an elongated active thermo-regulated neonatal transportable incubator (ANTI), having a main longitudinal axis with a proximal end and an opposite distal end comprising adjacent to at least one of the ends a temperature regulating vent (TRV). The TRV is configured to stream air from one end towards the opposite end substantially along the axis, and the ANTI is configured, by means of size and shape, to accommodate the neonate in parallel to the axis. Further the ANTI can be configured by means of size shape and material to at least partially inserted into an MRD having an open bore in its longitudinal axis, further accommodating the neonate parallel to the MRD bore. An incubator with a temperature regulating vent located outside the incubator and its base.
WHEELCHAIR SYSTEMS WITH EMERGENCY STOP FEATURES
A wheelchair system comprises a wheelchair comprising a seat, one or more first sensors disposed on or within the seat, one or more second sensors configured to communicate with the one or more first sensors and configured to be associated with a user to determine if the user is falling out of the wheelchair, wherein, upon detection that the user is falling out of the wheelchair, the wheelchair is configured to automatically stop.
Litter lift system
A litter lift system includes a motor-driven winch and a lifting strap. The motor-driven winch includes a rotatable spool. The lifting strap has one end coupled to the rotatable spool and is movable in response to rotation of the rotatable spool. The lifting strap has a first lifting segment and a second lifting segment positioned away from the end of the lifting strap coupled to the rotatable spool. The first lifting segment and the second lifting segment are each forked to define two separate lifting loops. Rotation of the rotatable spool in a first direction raises the first lifting segment and the second lifting segment. Rotation of the rotatable spool in a second direction different from the first direction lowers the first lifting segment and the second lifting segment.
NEGATIVE PRESSURE CHAMBER FOR PATIENT INTUBATION
A chamber for placement over a patient while allowing medical personnel to perform a medical procedure on the patient releasing virus, bacteria, or other contaminants, including a frame forming, supporting, and operatively integrated within a transparent body including a supported arch, an unsupported arch, and a top shield extending between the supported arch and the unsupported arch, wherein the body includes at least one access hole, and wherein the chamber surrounds the patient's head and the unsupported arch deforms around the patient's body in order to capture and exhaust any virus, bacteria, or other contaminants released by the patient during the medical procedure through negative pressure. A method of using the chamber of to perform a medical procedure on a patient. Methods of preventing exposure to waste anesthetic gas released from a patient after surgery, and preventing exposure to ultrafine particles and volatile organic compounds during 3D printer use.
Lift especially for changing the position of the seat in a wheelchair
A lift which is mainly used in wheelchairs to change the position of the seat and thus to change the position of a person sitting in the wheelchair. On the known scissor lift there is attached an upper frame consisting of a horizontal fixed part 1 and a tilting plate 2 attached to arms 3. In the fixed part 1 of the upper frame, tilting arms 5 are pivotally mounted on axle 4, with the other end pivotally mounted on axle 6 in arms 3 of the tilting plate 1, powered by the actuator 7 mounted in fixed part 1 of the upper frame. Actuator 7 through the levers of the cam tilting system drives tilting arms 5. The tilting plate 2 can be tilted in both directions around axle 6 that is around the attachment point of the arms 3 in the tilting arms 5.
PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUS HAVING VITAL SIGNS MONITORING AND ALERTING
A patient support apparatus includes a sensor capable of detecting vital signs, setting acceptable limits for the vital signs, and includes structures for monitoring the vital signs and providing local and/or remote indications to caregivers if the vital signs fall outside of acceptable limits.
Bed base frame
A bed base frame assembly of a bed generally comprises a base frame, a plurality of steerable and lockable casters, a lateral support assembly at the first and second sides of the base frame assembly, and an in-line support assembly at the foot end of the base frame assembly. The lateral support assembly may further include: a base frame; a first leg and a second leg rotatably connected to the base frame; a first actuator connected to the first leg and the second leg, wherein the first leg and the second leg rotate from the retracted position to the extended position; a third leg and a fourth leg rotatably connected to the base frame; and a second actuator connected to the third leg and the fourth leg, wherein the third leg and the fourth leg rotate from the retracted position to the extended position.
LOW-PROFILE AND HIGH-LOAD BALL-BALANCING ROLLING SYSTEM
This disclosure describes a low-profile, high-load, and hands-free ball-balancing omnidirectional rolling system with multiple human-robot interfaces for modular and adaptive design configurations and input control interfaces. The disclosed platform uses a self-balancing ball-based robot to allow for a safe, compact, high-load, self-balancing and intuitive mobility device for a person with lower-limb disability. Advanced driving assistance such as obstacle avoidance and semi-autonomous navigation between predefined locations is also disclosed.
Improved Wheel and Wheel Attachment
A rolling element such as a wheel and wheel attachment or caterpillar type rolling element for improving support. A rolling element includes: a first support surface formed as a loop configured to roll on a substrate such that a region of the first support surface alternately contacts and separates from the substrate, a first extension running about the loop and disposed about the first support surface, wherein where the rolling element is disposed on the substrate and a load is applied thereto: in a first region of the loop where the first support surface is separate from the substrate the first extension extends beyond the first support surface, and in a second region of the loop where the first support surface contacts the substrate the first extension is deformed so as to form a second support surface which contacts the substrate.
LIFT AND METHOD FOR USE OF A LIFT FOR POSITIONING A PATIENT RELATIVE TO A SURGICAL FRAME
A lift, a head support, and methods for use thereof for use with a surgical frame are provided. The lift and the head support can be used with the surgical frame that is capable of reconfiguration before, during, or after surgery. The surgical frame can include a main beam that can be rotated, raised/lowered, and tilted upwardly/downwardly to afford positioning and repositioning of a patient supported thereon, and the lift and the head support can be used in lifting the patient from a table/gurney and positioning the patient with respect to the main beam.
