The present disclosure provides a device, which includes: a first layer provided with a waterproof, breathable pressure re-distribution medium and adapted for adhesion around an area of interest on a patient prognosed for occurrence of pressure ulcer; at least one second layer disposed under the first layer and provided with pores, adapted for reducing impact of friction and shear on the area of interest; at least one third layer disposed under the at least one second layer, and made of a hard material and adapted for providing support to the device; and at least one fourth layer disposed under the at least one third layer, provided with grooved features, which allow for redistribution of pressure applied on the device. The device, when placed on the area of interest, allows for redistribution of pressure, reduced shear and reduced friction on the area of interest, and may be used for prevention of pressure ulcers.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MOVING A SURGICAL TABLE
Several solutions are described for making it easier to move a surgical robotics patient table, either from rest or to turn it. The table has a base, a support, and a table top on which the patient is supported. A number of casters are mounted to a body of the base. In one case, controllable jacks lift the body to release the casters thereby allowing them to swivel to a desired orientation. In another case, a drive assembly is rotatably coupled to the body of the base and includes an electric drive motor and a drive wheel to drive the table across the floor. Other aspects are also described and claimed.
ELEVATED CPR ASSIST DEVICE AND METHOD
An elevated CPR assist device is provided which is suitable for attachment to a stretcher to elevate a patient as elevated CPR is carried out on the patient. The device includes a housing and upper and lower device straps extending from the device housing. The upper device strap may be configured for attachment to the upper portion of a stretcher mattress on, or a backrest of, a stretcher. The lower device strap may be configured for attachment to the stretcher frame of the stretcher. At least one of the upper device strap and the lower device strap may be selectively extendable from the device housing. Selected extended lengths of the extendable device strap correspond to respective patient support angles of the stretcher mattress. The elevated CPR device is lengthened between the stretcher frame and the stretcher mattress/backrest to various desired angles, during the performance of elevated CPR.
Patient Support Apparatus
A patient support apparatus including a base frame arranged for movement about a floor surface. The base frame defines a foot end and a head end, and includes first and second longitudinal rails extending between the foot end and the head end with a plurality of lateral receivers formed in each of the first and second longitudinal rails. A patient support deck provides support to a patient, and includes a fowler deck section and a base deck section. The fowler deck section is coupled to the base frame for pivoting movement relative to the first and second longitudinal rails. The base deck section is attached to the first and second longitudinal rails, and includes a plurality of lateral braces having notched ends shaped to be inserted into a respective one the plurality of lateral receivers formed in the first and second longitudinal rails to assemble the patient support apparatus.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TABLE ACCESSORY DETECTION
An accessory detection apparatus for a modular medical device includes a support portion and at least one support accessory in connection with the support portion via a connection interface. The connection interface is configured to support the at least one support accessory extending from the support portion. The accessory detection apparatus includes at least one detection device in connection with a first portion of the connection interface and at least one identifier element in connection with a second portion of the connection interface. The apparatus further includes a controller in communication with the at least one detection device. The controller is configured to process at least one signal communicated from the at least one detection device and detect an identifier of at least one support accessory in response to the at least one signal.
Adjustable seat comfort wheelchair
An adjustable seat comfort wheelchair for maximizing comfort and convenience includes a chair base, a chair seat with a chair back, a headrest, a pair of armrests, a seat bottom, and a footrest. An electric drive train is coupled to the chair base and comprises: a battery compartment housing a rechargeable battery, a motor that is in operational communication with the rechargeable battery, a drive chain coupled to the motor, a pair of rear wheels that are driven by the motor coupled to the drive chain, a steering linkage, a pair of front wheels, a steering actuator, a control module, a lift piston, and a control stick that is in operational communication with the control module to operate the motor, the steering actuator, and the lift piston. The lift piston lifts the seat bottom to a lifted position to assist the user in standing.
PLATFORM LIFT WITH ENHANCED OCCUPANT SENSING, PLATFORM LIFTING AND LOCKING
A lift for a vehicle includes a platform configured to support an occupant thereon, a parallelogram mechanism to move the platform between a stowed position and a deployed position, a base to mount the parallelogram mechanism to a vehicle floor, a hydraulic system to move the platform through the parallelogram mechanism, a mechanism to fold and unfold the platform, an occupant retention device, a control unit to control a movement of the platform. The occupant retention device can include any one of a belt, a bridgeplate and a roll stop. The lift can also include a platform movement control device that can be provided as an acoustic sensor array, a bridgeplate lock and a platform stow lock. A light assembly can be mounted on the platform as a visual warning of the platform operation. The power connection to the control unit can include an encapsulated decouplable power interface.
Patient Transport Apparatus Drive Systems
A patient transport apparatus operable by a user for transporting a patient along stairs. A seat section is coupled to a support structure. A track having a belt is attached to the support structure and is arranged for selective operation between: a retracted position, and a deployed position to engage stairs. A drive system with a motor is disposed in rotational communication with the belt to control movement along stairs in the deployed position. A user interface us arranged for engagement to selectively adjust operation of the drive system between: an active state for controlling movement of the belt with the motor, and an inactive state. A braking controller is configured to sense movement of the belt in the inactive state, and to control the motor to limit movement of the belt in the inactive state to effect corresponding limited movement of the patient transport apparatus along stairs.

A patient containment system for securing a patient to a patient transport apparatus, comprising a first lower strap and a second lower strap. Each of the first lower strap and the second lower strap have a thigh region, a waist region, and a connection region arranged between the thigh region and the waist region. A first connector is coupled to the connection region of the first lower strap. A second connector is coupled to the connection region of the second lower strap, and is configured to releasably attach to the first connector to at least partially limit movement of the first lower strap relative to the second lower strap. The connection region defines a connection width, and the thigh region defines a thigh width larger than the connection width.
Moving apparatus based on bearing points created by end of lever arms with changeable length
The present invention relates to moving apparatus based on bearing points created by ends of lever arms with changeable length. The lever arm comprises two main components: body and end of lever arm. Lever arm body moves spirally or pendulously around the axis which is different from its axis, end of lever arm moves in and out along the lever arm body. The combination of movement of body and end of the lever arm creates bearing points of the apparatus on the terrain, thus creating capability to overcome barricades of the apparatus. Moreover, the combination of these two movements, when following appropriate principles, creates equilibrium for the frame of the apparatus on various terrains.
