PROCESS FOR TREATMENT OF SPENT IONIC LIQUIDS

The present disclosure provides a process for treatment a spent ionic liquid, comprising: mixing the spent ionic liquid with a first fluid medium and water to obtain slurry comprising a solid fraction and a liquid fraction; separating the solid fraction from slurry to obtain a filtrate and a residue comprising hydrated ionic solids; followed by drying the residue comprising the hydrated ionic solids at a temperature in the range of 60 C. to 120 C. to obtain treated ionic solids; and evaporating the filtrate to recover the fluid medium. The process of the present disclosure further comprises a step of contacting the treated ionic solids with at least one second fluid medium to separate an active ionic liquid.

Detergent alkylation catalyst regeneration effluent recycle

A process for the regeneration of a catalyst is presented. The catalyst is in a reactor for use in benzene alkylation, and periodically needs to be regenerated. The reactor is taken off-line, and a regenerant is passed through the reactor, producing an effluent stream. A portion of the effluent stream is recycled through the reactor without passing through a clean-up process.

Device, process, and catalyst intended for desulfurization/demercaptanization/dehydration of gaseous hydrocarbons

This application is in the field of technologies for desulfurization and demercaptanization of raw gaseous hydrocarbons (including natural gas, tail gas, technological gas, etc, including gaseous media). It can be used for simultaneous dehydration and desulfurization/demercaptanization of any kind of raw gaseous hydrocarbons.

Furan-2,5-dicarboxylic acid purge process

Disclosed is an oxidation process to produce a crude carboxylic acid product carboxylic acid product. The process comprises oxidizing a feed stream comprising at least one oxidizable compound to generate a crude carboxylic acid slurry comprising furan-2,5-dicarboxylic acid (FDCA) and compositions thereof. Also disclosed is a process to produce a dry purified carboxylic acid product by utilizing various purification methods on the crude carboxylic acid.

Regeneration of acidic ionic liquid catalysts

We provide a process for regenerating a used acidic ionic liquid catalyst which has been deactivated by conjunct polymers in a reactor, by removing at least 57 wt % of the conjunct polymers originally present in the used acidic ionic liquid catalyst in a separate regeneration reactor, so as to increase the activity of the catalyst. We also provide a regenerated used acidic ionic liquid catalyst having increased activity.

A method of chlorinating an antimony fluorohalide catalyst is disclosed. In one embodiment the method comprises contacting an antimony fluorohalide catalyst that contains one or more fluorines with a regenerating agent selected from 2-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (1233xf), 1,1,1,3-tetrachloropropane (250fb), 2-chloro-1,1,1,2-tetrafluoropropane (HCFC-244bb), and combinations of 1233xf, 250fb, and 244bb, under conditions effective to exchange at least one fluorine in the antimony fluorohalide catalyst with chlorine. The method can be used to regenerate spent antimony fluorohalide catalyst, for example regenerating SbCl.sub.5 from SbF.sub.5.
