Method for oxidative cleavage of compounds with unsaturated double bond
A method for oxidative cleavage of a compound with an unsaturated double bond is provided. The method includes the steps of: (A) providing a compound (I) with an unsaturated double bond, a trifluoromethyl-containing reagent, and a catalyst; ##STR00001## wherein, the catalyst is represented by Formula (II):
M(O).sub.mL.sup.1.sub.yL.sup.2.sub.z (II); wherein, M, L.sup.1, L.sup.2, m, y, z, R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are defined in the specification; and (B) mixing the compound with an unsaturated double bond and the trifluoromethyl-containing reagent to perform an oxidative cleavage of the compound with the unsaturated double bond by using the catalyst in air or under oxygen atmosphere condition to obtain a compound represented by Formula (III): ##STR00002##
Graphene oxide modified two-part cyanoacrylate/free radically curable adhesive systems
The present invention relates to two-part cyanoacrylate adhesive comprising a) a first part comprising a cyanoacrylate component; a peroxide catalyst; a stabilizer and a thickener; and b) a second part comprising a (meth)acrylate component; a graphene oxide; an adhesion promoter; a metal salt; and a fumed silica. Adhesive according to the present invention provides good performance as structural adhesive, good adhesion strength, good open and fix times, good tensile lap shear strength and good peel strength.
Processes for making polyisobutylene compositions
Methods of making polyisobutylene and catalyst systems are described. Polyisobutylene compositions and catalyst system compositions are also described. In some embodiments, a method of making a catalyst system includes: providing a support material comprising one or more ion exchange resins; dehydrating the support material; and forming a catalyst system by adding to the support material (a) a mixture comprising BF.sub.3, (b) a mixture comprising BF.sub.3 and a complexing agent, or (c) both. In some embodiments, a method of making a polymer composition includes providing a catalyst system comprising: (a) a support material comprising one or more ion exchange resins, and (b) BF.sub.3; providing a feedstock comprising isobutylene; forming a reaction mixture comprising the feedstock and the catalyst system; contacting the isobutylene with the catalyst system; and obtaining a polymer composition.

A process for the selective hydrogenation of polyunsaturated compounds containing at least 2 carbon atoms per molecule, contained in a hydrocarbon feedstock having a final boiling point below or equal to 300 C. in the presence of a catalyst comprising an alumina support and an active phase comprising nickel, said active phase not comprising a metal from Group VIB, said catalyst being prepared by a process comprising at least: i) a step of bringing said support into contact with at least one solution containing at least one nickel precursor; ii) a step of bringing said support into contact with at least one solution containing at least one organic compound comprising at least one carboxylic acid function; iii) a step of drying said impregnated support at a temperature below 250 C.;
steps i) and ii) being carried out separately, in any order.

CATALYST FOR USE IN ESTERIFICATION REACTION AND METHOD FOR CATALYZING ESTERIFICATION REACTION
A catalyst for use in esterification reaction is provided. The catalyst is formed by reacting a mixture including at least one first compound and at least one second compound. The at least one first compound is a metal alkoxide, an inorganic metal salt, a metal carboxylate salt, an inorganic metal compound, or a combination thereof, and each foregoing compound has titanium, aluminum, zirconium, hafnium, zinc, or bismuth. The at least one second compound is an alpha hydroxyl acid, an alkyl ester formed by an alpha hydroxyl acid and an alcohol, an alkyl amide formed by an alpha hydroxyl acid and an amine, an amino acid, an alkyl ester formed by an amino acid and an alcohol, an alkyl amide formed by an amino acid and an amine, or a combination thereof.
Cyclic Organosilicon Compounds as Electron Donors in Zeigler-Natta Catalyst Systems for Producing Propylene Polymer Having High Melt-Flowability
Cyclic organosilicon compounds having a structure represented by the general formula

and a method for using thereof as a component of catalysts for producing propylene polymer having a very high melt-flowability are disclosed. The cyclic organosilicon compounds are employed as external electron donors in Ziegler-Natta catalyst systems to dramatically improve the hydrogen response, and therefore the catalyst systems can be used to prepare polymer having high melt-flowability and high isotacticity at high yield.
PROCESSES FOR MAKING POLYISOBUTYLENE COMPOSITIONS
Methods of making polyisobutylene and catalyst systems are described. Polyisobutylene compositions and catalyst system compositions are also described. In some embodiments, a method of making a catalyst system includes: providing a support material; calcining the support material; and forming a catalyst system by adding to the support material (a) a mixture comprising BF.sub.3, (b) a mixture comprising BF.sub.3 and a complexing agent, or (c) both. In some embodiments, a method of making a polymer composition includes providing a catalyst system comprising: (a) a support material selected from the group consisting of Al.sub.2O.sub.3, ZrO.sub.2, TiO.sub.2, SnO.sub.2, CeO.sub.2, SiO.sub.2, SiO.sub.2/Al.sub.2O.sub.3, and combinations thereof; and (b) BF.sub.3; providing a feedstock comprising isobutylene; forming a reaction mixture comprising the feedstock and the catalyst system; contacting the isobutylene with the catalyst system; and obtaining a polymer composition.
