Catalytic articles comprising a substrate having a catalytic coating thereon, the catalytic coating comprising a catalytic layer having a thickness and an inner surface proximate to the substrate and an outer surface distal to the substrate; where the catalytic layer comprises a noble metal component on support particles and where the concentration of the noble metal component towards the outer surface is greater than the concentration towards the inner surface are highly effective towards treating exhaust gas streams of internal combustion engines. The articles are prepared via a method comprising providing a first mixture comprising micron-scaled support particles and applying the first mixture to a substrate to form a micro-particle layer; providing a second mixture comprising nano-scaled support particles and a noble metal component having an initial pH and applying the second mixture to the micro-particle layer and calcining the substrate.
Microwave Assisted and Low-Temperature Fabrication of Nanowire Arrays on Scalable 2D and 3D Substrates
A method of making a titanium dioxide nanowire array includes contacting a substrate with a solvent comprising a titanium (III) precursor, an acid, and an oxidant while microwave heating the solvent, thereby forming a hydrogen titanate H2Ti2O5.H2O nanowire array. The hydrogen titanate nanowire array is annealed to form a titanium dioxide nanowire array. The substrate is seeded with titanium dioxide before starting the hydrothermal synthesis of the hydrogen titanate nanowire array. The titanium dioxide nanowire array is loaded with a platinum group metal to form an exhaust gas catalyst. The titanium dioxide nanowire array can be used to catalyze oxidation of combustion exhaust.
METHODS OF HEAVY REFORMATE CONVERSION INTO AROMATIC COMPOUNDS
Method of making BTX compounds including benzene, toluene, and xylene, including feeding heavy reformate to a reactor containing a composite zeolite catalyst. The composite zeolite catalyst includes a mixture of layered mordenite (MOR-L) comprising a layered or rod-type morphology with a layer thickness less than 30 nm and ZSM-5. The MOR-L, the ZSM-5, or both include one or more impregnated metals. The method further includes producing the BTX compounds by simultaneously performing transalkylation and dealkylation of the heavy reformate in the reactor. The composite zeolite catalyst is able to simultaneously catalyze both the transalkylation and dealkylation reactions.
CATALYST FOR CONVERTING HEAVY REFORMATE TO PRODUCE BTX COMPOUNDS
A method of making BTX (benzene, toluene, xylene) compounds by feeding a heavy reformate stream to a reactor, where the reactor includes a composite zeolite catalyst, that contains a mixture of a desilicated mesoporous mordenite and ZSM-5, and in which the desilicated mesoporous mordenite, the ZSM-5, or both, comprise one or more impregnated metals. The composite zeolite catalyst is able to catalyze the transalkylation reaction and the dealkylation reaction simultaneously to produce the BTX compounds.

Process for hydrogenation of C9 aldehydes in at least two hydrogenation stages
The present invention relates to a process for producing alcohols by hydrogenation of C9 aldehydes. The process according to the invention is performed in two consecutive hydrogenation stages, wherein the first hydrogenation stage employs an activated metal catalyst based on a nickel metal foam and the second stage employs a supported catalyst containing a catalytically active component from the group consisting of nickel, copper, chromium and mixtures thereof.
Process and plant for producing alpha olefins
A process (100) for the production of linear alpha-olefins is proposed, wherein ethylene in a feed mixture is subjected to catalytic oligomerization (1) to obtain a product mixture containing alpha-olefins with different chain length and side compounds. In a primary fractionation (2), a primary fraction is formed using at least part of the product mixture, and in a secondary fractionation (4), a secondary fraction is formed using at least part of the primary fraction. The primary fractionation (2) and the secondary fractionation (4) are carried out such that the primary fraction and the secondary fraction predominantly contain one of the alpha-olefins and are low in or free of other alpha-olefins, that the primary fraction contains one or more of the side compounds, and that the secondary fraction is depleted relative to the primary fraction in the one or more side compounds. In an intermediate step (3) between the primary fractionation (2) and the secondary fractionation (4), to which at least part of the primary fraction is subjected, the one or more side compounds are at least partly converted to one or more secondary compounds, and the one or more secondary compounds are at least partly separated in the secondary fractionation (4). The intermediate step (3) is carried out in such a way that not more than 0.8% of the alpha-olefin predominantly contained in the primary fraction or the part thereof subjected to the intermediate step is reacted. The intermediate step is carried out using an alumina-based catalyst.
Method for regenerating a catalyst which is spent and regenerated by a hydrodesulfurization process of gasolines
A process for rejuvenating an at least partially spent catalyst resulting from a hydrodesulfurization process of a sulfur-containing olefinic gasoline cut, where the at least partially spent catalyst result is from a fresh catalyst a metal from group VIII, a metal from group VIb, and an oxide support, where the process includes a) regenerating the at least partially spent catalyst in an oxygen-containing gas stream at a temperature between 350? C. and 550? C., b) the regenerated catalyst is brought into contact with an impregnation solution containing a compound containing a metal from group VIb, the molar ratio of the metal from group VIb added per metal from group VIb already present in the regenerated catalyst being between 0.15 and 2.5 mol/mol, c) a drying stage is carried out at a temperature of less than 200? C., and the use of the rejuvenated catalyst in a hydrodesulfurization process.
Aromatization processes using both fresh and regenerated catalysts, and related multi-reactor systems
Multi-reactor systems with aromatization reactor vessels containing a catalyst with low surface area and pore volume, followed in series by aromatization reactor vessels containing a catalyst with high surface area and pore volume, are disclosed. Related reforming methods using the different aromatization catalysts also are described.
