FERRITE PARTICLES PROVIDED WITH OUTER SHELL STRUCTURE FOR CATALYST SUPPORTING MEDIUM
An object of the present invention is to provide ferrite particles for supporting a catalyst having a small apparent density, various properties are maintained in a controllable state and a specified volume is filled with a small weight, and a catalyst using the ferrite particles for supporting a catalyst. To achieve the object, ferrite particles for supporting a catalyst provided with an outer shell structure containing Ti oxide, a catalyst using the ferrite particles for supporting a catalyst are employed.
Self-supporting structures having active materials
A method and system for manufacturing and using a self-supporting structure in processing unit for adsorption or catalytic processes. The self-supporting structure has greater than 50% by weight of the active material in the self-supporting structure to provide an open-celled structure providing access to the active material. The self-supporting structures, which may be disposed in a processing unit, may be used in swing adsorption processes and other processes to enhance the recovery of hydrocarbons.
ALUMINIUM AND ZIRCONIUM-BASED MIXED OXIDE
The present invention relates to a mixed oxide of aluminium, of zirconium, of cerium, of lanthanum and optionally of at least one rare-earth metal other than cerium and lanthanum that makes it possible to repair a catalyst that retains, after severe ageing, a good thermal stability and a good catalytic activity. The invention also relates to the process for preparing this mixed oxide and also to a process for treating exhaust gases from internal combustion engines using a catalyst prepared from this mixed oxide.
METAL-FOAM BODY AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF AND THE USE THEREOF AS A CATALYST
The invention relates to a method for producing a metal-foam body, comprising the steps of (a) providing a metal-foam body A, which consists of nickel, cobalt, copper, or alloys or combinations thereof, (b) applying an aluminum-containing material MP to metal-foam body A so as to obtain metal-foam body AX, (c) thermally treating of metal-foam body AX, with the exclusion of oxygen, to achieve the formation of an alloy between the metallic components of metal-foam body A and the aluminum-containing material MP so as to obtain metal-foam body B, wherein the duration of the thermal treatment is chosen in dependence on the temperature of the thermal treatment and the temperature of the thermal treatment is chosen in dependence on the thickness of the metal-foam body AX. The invention also relates to the metal-foam bodies obtainable by the methods according to the invention and to the use thereof as catalysts for chemical transformations.
SPHERE-LIKE SUPER-MACROPOROUS MESOPOROUS MATERIAL AND POLYOLEFIN CATALYST CONTAINING SAME
Disclosed are a spherelike supermacroporous mesoporous material, a polyolefin catalyst, and a preparation method therefor and an olefin polymerization process. The spherelike supermacroporous mesoporous material has a twodimensional hexagonal ordered pore channel structures. The mesoporous material has an average pore size of 10 nm to 15 nm, a specific surface area of 300 m.sup.2/g to 400 m.sup.2/g, and an average particle size of 1 .Math.m to 3 .Math.m, based on the total mass of the mesoporous material. The mass content of water in the mesoporous material is < 1 ppm. The mass content of oxygen in the mesoporous material is < 1 ppm. When a polyolefin catalyst prepared with the mesoporous material as a carrier is used for an olefin polymerization reaction, the a polyolefin product with a narrow molecular weight distribution and a good melt index can be obtained.
ALKYL HALIDES CONVERSION INTO ETHYLENE AND PROPYLENE
The present disclosure concerns a process for converting alkyl halides to ethylene and propylene, said process comprising the steps of (a) providing a feedstream comprising alkyl halides; (b) providing a first and second catalyst composition, said second catalyst composition comprising a cracking catalyst; (c) contacting said feedstream with said first catalyst composition in a first reaction zone under first reaction conditions to provide a first product stream, and (d) subjecting at least a part of said first product stream to an Olefin Catalytic Cracking with said second catalyst composition in a second reaction zone under second reaction conditions to provide a second product steam. The process is remarkable in that it further comprises a step of steaming said first catalyst composition before the step (c) and in that said first catalyst composition comprises zeolites and a binder, wherein said zeolites comprise at least one 10-membered ring channel.
IRIDIUM-BASED AMORPHOUS ELECTROCATALYST AND SYNTHESIS OF SAME
A method of fabricating a catalyst material comprises forming or receiving a precursor solution of an iridium precursor compound, adding a 3d orbital transition metal to the precursor solution, adding a surfactant compound to the precursor solution to provide a precursor and surfactant mixture, reacting the iridium precursor compound with a nitrate salt of an alkaline metal cation to provide a reaction product comprising an iridium nitrate, and calcining the iridium nitrate at a specified calcination temperature to convert the iridium nitrate to form catalyst particles comprising an iridium oxide.
EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION CATALYST
An object of the present invention is to provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst having improved exhaust gas purifying performance (in particular, improved NOx purifying performance) at low to medium temperature, and, in order to achieve the object, the present invention provides an exhaust gas purification catalyst (10A) including: a substrate (20); and a catalyst layer (30 or 40) formed on the substrate (20), wherein the catalyst layer (30 or 40) contains rhodium element, phosphorus element and a rare earth element other than cerium element, wherein a ratio of a mass of the phosphorus element contained in the catalyst layer (30 or 40) to the mass of the rhodium element contained in the catalyst layer (30 or 40) is from 1 to 10, and wherein a ratio of a mass of the rare earth element other than cerium element in terms of an oxide thereof contained in the catalyst layer (30 or 40) to the mass of the rhodium element contained in the catalyst layer (30 or 40) is from 1 to 5.
NANOSTRUCTURED HYBRID IRON-ZEOLITE CATALYSTS
The present invention relates to a hybrid iron nanoparticle catalyst comprising: i) 1 to 50 wt. % nanoparticles comprising iron and at least one of a metal M selected from the group consisting of alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, transition metals of groups 3 to 7 and 9 to 11 of the Periodic Table of Elements, lanthanides and combinations of M thereof; and ii) 50 to 99 wt. % of an aluminosilicate or silicoaluminophosphate zeolite, based on the total weight of the catalyst, wherein said nanoparticle has a diameter of about 2 to 50 nm. The present invention also relates to a method of preparing the hybrid iron nanoparticle catalyst and a process for the production of light olefins using the hybrid iron nanoparticle catalyst.
TABLETED ALPHA-ALUMINA CATALYST SUPPORT
A tableted catalyst support, characterized by an alpha-alumina content of at least 85 wt.-%, a pore volume of at least 0.40 mL/g, as determined by mercury porosimetry, and a BET surface area of 0.5 to 5.0 m.sup.2/g. The tableted catalyst support is an alpha-alumina catalyst support obtained with high geometrical precision and displaying a high overall pore volume, thus allowing for impregnation with a high amount of silver, while exhibiting a surface area sufficiently large so as to provide optimal dispersion of catalytically active species, in particular metal species. The invention further provides a process for producing a tableted alpha-alumina catalyst support, which comprises i) forming a free-flowing feed mixture comprising, based on inorganic solids content, at least 50 wt.-% of a transition alumina; ii) tableting the free-flowing feed mixture to obtain a compacted body; and iii) heat treating the compacted body at a temperature of at least 1100° C., preferably at least 1300° C., more preferably at least 1400° C., in particular at least 1450° C., to obtain the tableted alpha-alumina catalyst support. The invention moreover relates to a compacted body obtained by tableting a free-flowing feed mixture which comprises, based on inorganic solids content, at least 50 wt.-% of a transition alumina having a loose bulk density of at most 600 g/L, a pore volume of at least 0.6 mL/g, as determined, and a median pore diameter of at least 15 nm. The invention moreover relates to a shaped catalyst body for producing ethylene oxide by gas-phase oxidation of ethylene, comprising at least 15 wt.-% of silver, relative to the total weight of the catalyst, deposited on the tableted alpha-alumina catalyst support. The invention moreover relates to a process for producing ethylene oxide by gas-phase oxidation of ethylene, comprising reacting ethylene and oxygen in the presence of the shaped catalyst body.
