A method uses an in-situ ion exchange process. A process includes admixing a zeolite in the ammonium (NH.sub.4.sup.+) form with an aqueous mixture comprising water, a transition metal ion source, and, optionally, an acid, to form a slurry containing a metal ion-exchanged zeolite.

A Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) sorbent material of the present invention includes a multi-metallic oxide that includes one or more alkali or alkaline earth metal, one or more 3d transition metal, and one or more rare earth element. The NOx sorbent material is configured to adsorb and absorb NOx below a low temperature and to release the adsorbed or absorbed NOx at temperature at or above the low temperature. In some embodiments, a manganese catalyst is deposited on a high surface area carrier. The manganese catalyst takes the form of an alkali/metal promotor and an Mn-based compound. In general, the NOx sorbent material contains about one percent to about fifty percent by weight of alkali/alkaline earth metal manganese catalyst based on the total weight of the catalyst.

A method of dry reforming of methane (CH.sub.4) is provided. The bimetallic supported catalyst includes 8 to 16 weight percent (wt. %) nickel and 2 to 14 wt. % copper, each based on a total weight of bimetallic supported catalyst.

A new catalyst hydroisomerizes C18 paraffins from fatty acids to a high degree to produce a composition with acceptable freeze point which retains 18 carbon atoms in the hydrocarbon molecule for jet fuel. We have discovered a fuel composition comprising at least 14 wt % hydrocarbon molecules having at least 18 carbon atoms and a freeze point not higher than −40° C. The composition also may exhibit a exhibiting a final boiling point of no more than 300° C. The hydroisomerization process can be once through or a portion of the product diesel stream may be selectively hydrocracked or recycled to hydroisomerization to obtain a fuel composition that meets jet fuel specifications.
