CATALYST COMPOSITION COMPRISING MODIFIED CRYSTALLINE ALUMINOSILICATE FOR DEHYDRATION OF ALCOHOLS

Process for preparing a catalyst composition containing a modified crystalline aluminosilicate and a binder, wherein the catalyst composition comprises from 5 to 95% by weight of crystalline aluminosilicate as based on the total weight of the catalyst composition, the process being remarkable in that it comprises a step of steaming said crystalline aluminosilicate: at a temperature ranging from 100° C. to 380° C.; under a gas phase atmosphere containing from 5 wt % to 100 wt % of steam; at a pressure ranging from 2 to 200 bars; at a partial pressure of H.sub.2O ranging from 2 to 200 bars; and said steaming being performed during at least 30 min and up to 144 h;
and in that the process also comprises a step of shaping, or of extruding, the crystalline aluminosilicate with a binder, wherein the binder is selected to comprise at least 85 wt % of silica as based on the total weight of the binder, and less than 1000 ppm by weight as based on the total weight of the binder of aluminium, gallium, boron, iron and/or chromium.

CATALYST COMPOSITION COMPRISING MODIFIED CRYSTALLINE ALUMINOSILICATE FOR DEHYDRATION OF ALCOHOLS

Process for preparing a catalyst composition containing a modified crystalline aluminosilicate and a binder, wherein the catalyst composition comprises from 5 to 95% by weight of crystalline aluminosilicate as based on the total weight of the catalyst composition, the process being remarkable in that it comprises a step of steaming said crystalline aluminosilicate: at a temperature ranging from 100° C. to 380° C.; under a gas phase atmosphere containing from 5 wt % to 100 wt % of steam; at a pressure ranging from 2 to 200 bars; at a partial pressure of H.sub.2O ranging from 2 to 200 bars; and said steaming being performed during at least 30 min and up to 144 h;
and in that the process also comprises a step of shaping, or of extruding, the crystalline aluminosilicate with a binder, wherein the binder is selected to comprise at least 85 wt % of silica as based on the total weight of the binder, and less than 1000 ppm by weight as based on the total weight of the binder of aluminium, gallium, boron, iron and/or chromium.

Gas-phase catalytic fluorination with chromium catalysts

A process for the fluorination of a chlorinated C3 alkane or alkene compound having at least one chlorine atom into a fluorinated C3 alkane or alkene compound having at least one fluorine atom includes the following steps: a) contacting, in a reactor, the chlorinated compound with hydrogen fluoride in gas phase in the presence of a fluorination catalyst to produce a fluorinated compound, and b) regenerating the fluorination catalyst used in step a). The step (b) of regenerating the fluorination catalyst comprises (c) the treatment of said fluorination catalyst with an oxidizing agent-containing gas flow to form an oxidized fluorination catalyst, and (d) the treatment of the oxidized fluorination catalyst obtained in step (c) with a gaseous mixture comprising a reducing agent and an inert gas. The catalyst regenerated in step b) is reused in step a) and the reducing agent is selected from C.sub.1-C.sub.10 hydrohalocarbons.

Gas-phase catalytic fluorination with chromium catalysts

A process for the fluorination of a chlorinated C3 alkane or alkene compound having at least one chlorine atom into a fluorinated C3 alkane or alkene compound having at least one fluorine atom includes the following steps: a) contacting, in a reactor, the chlorinated compound with hydrogen fluoride in gas phase in the presence of a fluorination catalyst to produce a fluorinated compound, and b) regenerating the fluorination catalyst used in step a). The step (b) of regenerating the fluorination catalyst comprises (c) the treatment of said fluorination catalyst with an oxidizing agent-containing gas flow to form an oxidized fluorination catalyst, and (d) the treatment of the oxidized fluorination catalyst obtained in step (c) with a gaseous mixture comprising a reducing agent and an inert gas. The catalyst regenerated in step b) is reused in step a) and the reducing agent is selected from C.sub.1-C.sub.10 hydrohalocarbons.

CATALYST AND SYSTEM FOR METHANE STEAM REFORMING BY RESISTANCE HEATING; SAID CATALYST'S PREPARATION

The invention relates to a structured catalyst for catalyzing steam methane reforming reaction in a given temperature range T upon bringing a hydrocarbon feed gas into contact with the structured catalyst. The structured catalyst comprises a macroscopic structure, which comprises an electrically conductive material and supports a ceramic coating. The macroscopic structure has been manufactured by 3D printing or extrusion and subsequent sintering, wherein the macroscopic structure and the ceramic coating have been sintered in an oxidizing atmosphere in order to form chemical bonds between the ceramic coating and the macroscopic structure. The ceramic coating supports catalytically active material arranged to catalyze the steam methane reforming reaction, wherein the macroscopic structure is arranged to conduct an electrical current to supply an energy flux to the steam methane reforming reaction. The invention moreover relates to methods of manufacturing the structured catalyst and a system using the structured catalyst.

The invention relates to a structured catalyst for catalyzing steam methane reforming reaction in a given temperature range T upon bringing a hydrocarbon feed gas into contact with the structured catalyst. A ceria-zirconia-based composite oxide containing a composite oxide of ceria and zirconia is provided, in which primary particles having a particle diameter of 1.5 to 4.5 m account for, on a particle number basis, at least 50% of all primary particles in the ceria-zirconia-based composite oxide, and the molar ratio of cerium to zirconium in the ceria-zirconia-based composite oxide is between 43:57 and 55:45.

A process for the preparation of a catalyst comprising palladium, a porous support with a specific surface area in the range 140 to 250 m.sup.2/g, said catalyst being prepared by a process comprising the following steps: a) preparing a colloidal solution of palladium oxide or palladium hydroxide in an aqueous phase; b) adding said solution obtained from step a) to said porous support at a flow rate in the range 1 to 20 litre(s)/hour; said porous support being contained in a rotary impregnation device functioning at a rotational speed in the range 10 to 20 rpm; c) optionally, submitting the impregnated porous support obtained from step b) to a maturation; d) drying the catalyst precursor obtained from step b) or c); e) calcining the catalyst precursor obtained from step d).
