Autonomous critical care systems and integrated combat casualty care systems

Systems, devices, and methods for monitoring and treating a patient on route to a medical facility are disclosed. The system comprises a critical care unit; at least one patient monitoring device coupled to the critical care unit, wherein the critical care unit obtains physiological data about the patient from each patient monitoring device; at least one patient treatment device coupled to the critical care unit, wherein the critical care unit provides treatment instructions to each patient treatment device; a two way communications device coupled to the critical care unit; and a remote communications terminal in communication with the two way communications device. The critical care unit preferably sends the physiological data to the remote communications terminal and receives the treatment instructions from the remote communications terminal via the two way communications device.

A low cost, disposable bio-secure environment to temporarily hold, and where required to transport, patients who are suspected of having an infectious or contagious disease requiring contact, droplet and/or respiratory isolation precautions. The described Environmental Unit's unique design provides a unit that is disposable and relatively inexpensive. The frame is designed to integrate and adapt to various hospital stretchers and beds. The unit is large enough for a patient to sit up and allows movement of arms and legs and the ability to eat and drink while isolated on a bed.

Warming therapy patient care units with automated warm-up modes

Described herein is a system including a patient support unit having a patient environment, a heating module, a sensor module, and a control system. The control system is configured to selectively operate the system in a pre-programmed warm-up mode configured to gradually warm the patient in the patient environment according to a series of stepped skin temperature increases performed over a series of stepped time durations to achieve a goal skin temperature. Related apparatus, system, methods and/or articles are described.

A sealing pad (100) for sealing a respiratory mask. The mask is configured to create a sealing interface. The sealing interface encircles the nostrils and includes portions crossing the nasal ridge and the concave portions. The pad has a face-contacting side to sealingly engage the face, and a mask contacting side to sealingly engage the mask. The pad (100) includes a portion for crossing the nasal ridge and portions (113) for crossing concave portions on either side of the nose such that the mask contacting side is engageable with the mask to define the portions of the sealing interface crossing the nasal ridge and the concave portions. The pad carries, or has one or more defined apertures (107) for carrying, one or more tube portions for conveying fluid across the sealing interface.

A novel enclosure is used to prevent health-care-associated infections caused by contamination of devices such as cellular telephones, laptops, tablet computers, purses, and briefcases. Such a device is placed into the enclosure and is carried into a disinfected or clean environment, such as an operating room. The enclosure prevents infectious agents or other contaminants on the surface of the device from contaminating the clean environment. The enclosure also protects the environments outside the operating room from contaminants within the operating room. The enclosure is inexpensively manufactured and disposable. The enclosure may include an effective amount of antibacterial, antifungal, and/or antiviral compounds. The enclosure may be used in the residence of an individual with a compromised immune system. The enclosure may be used to bring a device into and out of a home or room of an individual who is extremely neat or is inflicted with an obsessive-compulsive disorder.
