Independent neonatal support assessment placenta transfusion and resuscitation unit
A trolley is provided for user in hospital settings, generally related to the maternity ward and newborn infants. The trolley has a height-adjustable platform which is connected to a base structure through a lift mechanism. The lift mechanism is used to raise and lower the height-adjustable platform as desired by an attending physician. To help an attending physician deliver and care for newborn infants, a resuscitation system, vacuum system, and accessory-receiving mount are also provided. Power is provided by a rechargeable battery which is placed in a power housing which is mounted to the base structure. The resuscitation system provides two gas tanks which are connected to a gas mixer and controlled by an associated module. The resuscitation system is able to provide specific gas mixtures for a newborn infant. The vacuum system aides with post birth cleaning, and other devices can be connected to the accessory-receiving mount as needed.
Enclosure and method for prevention of health-care-associated infections from contaminated devices
A novel enclosure is used to prevent health-care-associated infections caused by contamination of devices such as cellular telephones, laptops, tablet computers, purses, and briefcases. Such a device is placed into the enclosure and is carried into a disinfected or clean environment, such as an operating room. The enclosure prevents infectious agents or other contaminants on the surface of the device from contaminating the clean environment. The enclosure also protects the environments outside the operating room from contaminants within the operating room. The enclosure is inexpensively manufactured and disposable. The enclosure may include an effective amount of antibacterial, antifungal, and/or antiviral compounds. The enclosure may be used in the residence of an individual with a compromised immune system. The enclosure may be used to bring a device into and out of a home or room of an individual who is extremely neat or is inflicted with an obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Apparatus and method for reorienting a person between a supine position and a prone position
An apparatus for reorienting a person includes a wrap having a first lateral portion and a second lateral portion, the first lateral portion and the second lateral portion being releasably securable to one another along an anterior region of the wrap between lateral sides of the person and along a posterior region of the wrap between the lateral sides of the person via a set of fasteners. Each of the lateral portions are dimensioned to extend around a corresponding one of the lateral sides of the person and having anterior and posterior edges that are dimensioned to extend at most partway across to an opposite one of the lateral sides of the person. The wrap is made from flexible materials and dimensioned to extend at least from below knees of the person to above the elbows of the person and snugly retain the person therein.
Resuscitation chamber
A resuscitation chamber apparatus for administering hyperbaric oxygen to a patient. More particularly, the present invention relates to a hyperbaric oxygen compatible critical care chamber apparatus preferably for use in emergency departments and/or prehospital ambulance management of patients. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus is a resuscitation monoplace hyperbaric chamber preferably used in critical care management of acutely ill or injured patients in prehospital emergency medical services (EMS) settings or in hospital emergency departments. The apparatus preferably allows a critical care shock or arrested patient to be pressurized preferably without compromise for application of best medical equipment, medications and human resuscitating intervention.
Autonomous critical care systems and integrated combat casualty care systems
Systems, devices, and methods for monitoring and treating a patient on route to a medical facility are disclosed. The system comprises a critical care unit; at least one patient monitoring device coupled to the critical care unit, wherein the critical care unit obtains physiological data about the patient from each patient monitoring device; at least one patient treatment device coupled to the critical care unit, wherein the critical care unit provides treatment instructions to each patient treatment device; a two way communications device coupled to the critical care unit; and a remote communications terminal in communication with the two way communications device. The critical care unit preferably sends the physiological data to the remote communications terminal and receives the treatment instructions from the remote communications terminal via the two way communications device.
Warming therapy patient care units with automated weaning modes
A system includes a patient support unit having an enclosed patient environment, a heating module, a skin temperature sensor module, an environmental sensor module, and a control system. The control system is configured to selectively operate the system in a pre-programmed weaning mode configured to gradually wean the patient from the warmed patient environment series of stepped air temperature decreases performed over a series of stepped time durations achieves a goal air temperature while maintaining a goal skin temperature within a weaning abort deviation.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTAINING DEADLY GERMS OF A PATIENT DURING TREATMENT
Methods and devices are presented for the long-term treatment of a patient infectious with deadly microbes without a risk for spread of germs to caregivers comprising a hermetically sealed human sized containment box with means for delivering medical care, for sustaining life, and for dealing with waste products, as well as providing rehabilitative care.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR A NEONATE INCUBATOR, CAPSULE AND CART
Systems and method for positioning a neonate within an imaging device are provided. A capsule incubator, a cart, and a docking incubator are used to move a baby between an imaging device and a incubator, such that a baby can be imagined without having to move the baby from its environment.
