ION EXCHANGE DEVICE AND METHOD OF USING SAME
An ion exchange device is used that includes an anion exchange tank, a cation exchange tank and a tower body side portion, in which the anion exchange tank and the cation exchange tank are allowed to communicate by communication means that is arranged around the outside of the anion exchange tank and the cation exchange tank. The ion exchange device also includes supply/discharge pipes for supplying or discharging a liquid to or from an upper portion and a lower portion of the anion exchange tank, and supply/discharge pipes for supplying or discharging a liquid to or from an upper portion and a lower portion of the cation exchange tank. A water collection/distribution member that allows water to pass but prevents passage of an ion-exchange resin is provided in a flat plate.

Fluid Treatment Tank Having a Distributor Plate
A distributor plate for a fluid tank such as a water softener pressure vessel separates the resin bed from a lower end of the resin tank. The distributor plate includes a disk that is supported on an upwardly facing surface from below and that is restrained from upward motion by a weld bead located above an outer periphery of the disk. The disk may have an inner slotted plate portion and an outer portion, and wherein the outer portion of the disk has an upper surface having an annular protrusion extending above an upper surface of the slotted plate portion, with an upper surface of the protrusion forms an engagement surface for the weld bead. The disk may be formed from a thermoplastic material having a relatively high dimensional predictability such as high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and unfilled or 30% glass-filled Noryl, respectively.

Tank closure cesium removal
The invention relates to systems, apparatus and methods for the removal of cesium and other radionuclides from liquid waste contained in a high level waste tank. The invention includes transporting a stream of the liquid waste from the high level waste tank to one or more ion-exchange column assemblies to remove the cesium therefrom using a sorbent, such as, crystalline silico-titanate. The ion-exchange column assemblies include an ion-exchange column and an integrated shield. The column is concentrically positioned within the shield and an air gap is present between the column and the shield to provide passive cooling.

SCALABLE PURIFICATION METHOD FOR AAV1
A two-step chromatography purification scheme is described which selectively captures and isolates the genome-containing rAAV vector particles from the clarified, concentrated supernatant of a rAAV production cell culture. The process utilizes an affinity capture method performed at a high salt concentration followed by an anion exchange resin method performed at high pH to provide rAAV vector particles which are substantially free of rAAV intermediates.
Fluid treatment tank having a distributor plate
A distributor plate for a fluid tank such as a water softener pressure vessel separates the resin bed from a lower end of the resin tank. The distributor plate includes an outer ring that is affixed to the wall of the tank and that is formed of a first thermoplastic material having a relatively low dimensional predictability, and an inner disk that is supported on the outer ring and that is formed from a second thermoplastic material having a relatively high dimensional predictability when compared to that of the first thermoplastic material, the inner disk being fluid permeable but fluid treatment media impermeable. The outer ring and inner disk may be made from high density polyethylene (HDPE) and unfilled or 30% glass-filled Noryl, respectively. Also disclosed is a method of assembling a pressure vessel.
