IMAGE-BASED PAIRING AND CONTROLLING OF DEVICES IN A CLINICAL ENVIRONMENT
An example method includes capturing images using a camera and detecting a medical device in a first image among the images. A request is transmitted to the medical device. Based on transmitting the request, the example method includes determining that the medical device has output a chirp signal in a second image among the images. Based on the chirp signal, the method includes causing the medical device to perform an action by transmitting a control message to the medical device.
System for evaluating sleeping comfort of bedding system
An evaluation system including a hardware system for collecting real-time data for evaluating sleeping comfort performance of a bedding system is disclosed. The hardware system includes a thermal and moisture comfort measurement system, a thermal and moisture comfort control system, a biomechanical comfort control system, and a biomechanical comfort measurement system. The evaluation system also includes a computational system having a processor and a tactile database, and a portable device. The computational system is configured to receive and process the real-time data from the hardware system, and is communicatively connected to the portable device for transmitting real-time data for evaluating the bedding system and adjusting the hardware system. A mobile application executable on the portable device is configured to collect subjective opinion of the sleeper using questionnaires, and the processor is configured to perform combined analysis of the subjective opinion and the real-time data of the bedding system.
Moisture Control Coverlet
A moisture control coverlet (10) includes a fluid pathway for moisture removal fluid It is selectively configurable to use a first fluid pump (32), and/or an adaptor (34). The first fluid pump (32) can be mounted on the coverlet and coupled to the fluid pathway for pumping moisture removal fluid into or out of the fluid pathway. The adaptor (34) can be mounted on the coverlet and coupled to the fluid pathway and can be coupled to a second fluid pump (48) for pumping moisture removal fluid into or out of the fluid pathway.
Moisture Control System
A moisture control system includes a moisture control coverlet (10) and a fluid pump (18). The moisture control coverlet (10) includes a fluid pathway therein for moisture removal fluid. The fluid pump (18) is coupled to the fluid pathway for pumping fluid out of the fluid pathway by negative pressure at a fluid pump rate. The fluid pump rate can be adjustable and/or can be greater than 1 CFM.
Patient support apparatus and method
A patient support is provided. The patient support may include a plurality of inflatable members. The plurality of inflatable members may include a core including a resilient material. The patient support may be controlled with a first controller positioned within an envelope of the patient support. The patient support may include a detector to detect when an external controller is coupled to the patient support, the patient support being controlled by the second controller when the second controller is present.
Backrest, method for adjusting a backrest and (wheel) chair provided with a backrest
The invention relates to a backrest for supporting the back of a seated person, the backrest comprising mounting means for mounting the backrest on a frame of a seating device; comprising: —a first back part for supporting at least a part of the back of the person at a determined angle, which first back part has a stiffness such that during use the part of the back shapes itself substantially to the first back part, and wherein the backrest comprises adjusting means for adjusting the angle and/or the position of the first back part relative to the frame; and —a second back part which has a flexibility such that during use the second back part shapes itself substantially continuously to another part of the back of the person. The invention further relates to a method for adjusting such a backrest and a (wheel) chair provided with such a backrest.
Health Care Air-Flow Heating/Cooling Mattress
A multifunctional mattress having a mattress body and a heating/cooling pressurization apparatus connected to the mattress body; the mattress body comprises independent pressurized circular balloons, alternatingly pressurized square balloons, heating/cooling air supply tubes, and pressurized tubing; the two sides of said heating/cooling air supply tubes are provided with small blow holes; the independent pressurized circular balloons (3) has a surface layer and a bottom layer; the surface layer and bottom layer are joined to form a plurality of independent closed balloons (33); at a position corresponding to the head are independent pressurized circular balloons; the alternatingly pressurized square balloon areas can be inflated or deflated by means of balloons causing the upper layer of sealed balloons to rise or fall.
A CONTROLLED CLIMATE BED FOR THERMOREGULATORY MODULATION OF A SLEEPER
A climate-controlled bed capable of adapting to the needs of a sleeper via a closed loop feedback control system is provided. The bed includes a thermoelectric energy source, a sensor configured to monitor a physiological temperature of a sleeper, and a control system that regulates a temperature of the bed via the thermoelectric energy source. The control system can utilize data from the sensor to determine optimal thermal needs of the sleeper. The control system can also vary the temperature of the bed during a sleep cycle based on at least one predetermined sleep factor, such as the natural circadian temperature cycle.
PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUS HAVING AN INTEGRATED LIMB COMPRESSION DEVICE
A patient support apparatus includes a frame having a patient support deck. A footboard is removably coupled to the frame. A compression therapy module is located inside the footboard or is mounted to a foot section of the frame. A sleeve port is pneumatically coupled to the compression therapy module and is located on the foot section. The sleeve port is configured for attachment to at least one tube extending from a compression sleeve worn on a limb of a patient. Control circuitry is coupled to the frame and is operable to control functions of the patient support apparatus and to control the compression therapy module. A graphical display screen is coupled to the control circuitry and displays user inputs that are selected to control functions of the patient support apparatus and the compression therapy module.
Anti-bedsore bed
An anti-bedsore bed may comprise a bed unit, a first bed body, and a second bed body. The bed unit has a first mattress, and a bottom portion is coupled on a bottom surface thereof. Moreover, the bottom portion comprises six supporting units evenly arranged into three sets at positions corresponding to a user's upper, middle and lower back, and each of the supporting units has a sliding block moveably mounted on an upper surface of the bottom portion. Furthermore, each of the sliding blocks has a supporting rod, and an abutting unit is pivotally connected to an upper end of the supporting rod. The supporting rods are configured to move upwardly in a preset time interval, and the abutting units are adapted to uplift a user's body to detach from the first mattress for a designed time, thereby achieving the anti-bedsore effect.
