10952540 · 2021-03-23 · ·

A mattress includes a first, phase changeable component and a thermal management system adapted to control the temperature of the phase changeable component in order to change the firmness of the mattress. In one embodiment the phase changeable component includes two dimensional lattices separated from each other and a spring element extending between the lattices. Some embodiments of the mattress include an optional single phase component. The firmness can be made spatially and/or temporally uniform or nonuniform, and can be controlled based on one or more sensed parameters.

Autoregulation of irradiance in phototherapy systems

A device for providing phototherapy. The device has lights that emit irradiance to provide phototherapy. The lights are positionable to emit the irradiance towards a patient. An enclosure is connected to a base and supports the lights. A control module is operatively connected to the lights and controls the irradiance emitted from the lights. A non-transitory memory module is operatively connected to the control module and stores a control program. A plurality of sensors is operatively connected to the control module and are configured to sense a current position of the lights. The control program is configured to receive inputs that include at least the current position of the lights and to provide outputs to the control module based at least in part on the inputs. The control module controls the irradiance emitted from the plurality of lights based at least in part on the outputs.

FLOATATION-TYPE MATTRESS FILLED WITH FLUIDIZED BALLS

Provided is a floatation-type mattress filled with fluidized balls, wherein: a tunnel is fully filled with balls along the periphery of the mattress body; a container is merged and connected with a lower plate made of a stiff mesh and an upper plate made of a flexible mesh; multiple columns are arranged inside the container and configured to be pressed vertically; the container is filled with lightweight fluidized small balls; and dynamic equilibrium according to Pascal's principle evenly distributes weight such that, regardless of the angle of bent surfaces of the human body, weight is evenly distributed over all body connection surfaces, thereby providing equilibrium. The floatation-type mattress comforts a person as if he/she is floating on the Dead Sea, has good ventilation, and can be used in a bedroom. The floatation-type mattress prevents or alleviates pressure ulcers occurring to a person restricted to lying in bed for a long period of time.

Multimodality Medical Procedure Mattress-Based Device

A mattress system is provided that is optimized for the hospital setting and includes a guiderail system that accepts a variety of accessories for attachment thereto. The guiderail system may have integrated data lines, power lines, gas lines, and/or fluid lines. Also provided are radioabsorbant shields, trays and other components designed for optimal use with the mattress system.

Bed with foot warming system

A bed can include a mattress and a foot warming system. The mattress can include a mattress cover and a support structure that is positioned under and covered by the mattress cover. The foot warming system can include a heating unit an envelope, a power source, and an electrical connector electrically connecting the heating unit to the power source. The heating unit can be positioned inside the envelope between the envelope top and the envelope bottom. The heating unit and the envelope can be positioned at a foot of the bed under mattress cover between the support structure and the mattress cover.

A portable bathing tub is shown and described. The portable bathing tub includes a frame having a housing placed on frame. The frame has a plurality of casters located on a bottom side of the frame. The housing is made up of a plurality of sidewalls and a top portion. The top portion includes a tub portion and a sink portion. There is a retractable shower fluidly connected to a water inlet source. There is further a grey water tank location within the housing supported by the frame.

Multi-zone temperature modulation system for bed or blanket

A temperature modulation system for a bed, blanket, or other furniture includes a fluid for moderating temperature change, a number of conduit circuits for directing the fluid through respective zones, a control unit including a thermoelectric device for modulating temperature of the fluid, and a pump. Each of the conduit circuits selectively and independently directs fluid through its respective zone in order to produce a temperature within the zone that is independent of the temperature outside the zone. The system also includes an arrangement of one or more zones in an arrangement in which the control unit is programmed to vary the zone temperature over time according to a schedule.

INTEGRATION OF DISTRIBUTED THERMOELECTRIC HEATING AND COOLING

A thermoelectric device including a panel, formed of a thermally insulating material, and having a plurality of thermoelectric elements including compacted conductors inside the insulating material and expanded conductors outside the insulating material wherein the thermoelectric elements run substantially parallel to or at an acute angle relative to the long dimension of the panel. The thermoelectric device may be integrated into a variety of surfaces or enclosures needing heating or cooling with controls and configurations to optimize the application.

THERMOTHERAPY DEVICE

A patient bed assembly unit as well as to a thermotherapy device for newborns includes a bed frame and a drawer. The bed frame has a drawer guide configured to make possible a drawer movement from a central pushed-in position in the bed frame along a first pull-out direction and in a second pull-out direction, which direction is opposite the first pull-out direction, into a pulled-out position of the drawer. A drawer-centering device acts on the drawer to move it into the central pushed-in position. The drawer can be removed from the guide. A drawer anti-tilt device is provided, which transmits a torque acting on the drawer directly to a bed frame and prevents the downward tilting of the drawer relative to the bed frame about an axis extending at right angles to the pull-out directions.

Warming therapy patient care units with automated warm-up modes

Described herein is a system including a patient support unit having a patient environment, a heating module, a sensor module, and a control system.
