Method for regeneration of spent ion exchange resins

The present disclosure relates to a method for regeneration of spent ion exchange resins to obtain regenerated ion-exchange resins. The regenerated ion exchange resins can efficiently reduce the total acid number (TAN) of highly acidic crude oils. The present disclosure particularly relates to a method of treatment of spent ion exchange resins using at least one non-acidic crude oil condensate and at least one polar organic solvent.

ULTRAPURE WATER PRODUCTION SYSTEM AND METHOD OF PRODUCING ULTRAPURE WATER

Fine particles that are contained in ultrapure water supplied to a point of use is further reduced.

Ultrapure water production system has ultrapure water supply line that is connected to point of uses, wherein ultrapure water flows through ultrapure water supply line; and first ion exchange apparatus, membrane filtration apparatus and second ion exchange apparatus that are arranged in series on ultrapure water supply line. Membrane filtration apparatus is arranged between first ion exchange apparatus and second ion exchange apparatus. At least a part of the ultrapure water that flows out from membrane filtration apparatus is treated by second ion exchange apparatus before the at least a part of the ultrapure water is supplied to point of uses.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REGENERATING AND RESTORING KINETIC PROPERTIES OF RESIN
20220168725 · 2022-06-02 ·

A system and method configured to restore ion exchange kinetic properties and purify resin is described. Degraded ion exchange kinetic properties of anion resin will eventually result in impurity slippage through resin charges. This system and method employs an acid catalyst in combination with sulfite cleaning solution to remove organic material and to protonate iron oxides for deconstruction and removal from anion resins. The cleaning solution, when applied via a cleaning vessel utilizing an eductor(s)/plenum and wedge-wire screen draw chamber, while controlling all phases of cleaning by electronic monitoring, yields complete restoration of ion exchange kinetics on usable resin. As such, the system and method provides a safe, effective, and vastly improved method for restoring anion resin kinetics and improving regeneration quality, for improved resin performance and minimizing resin replacement costs.

A process for boron removal from feed water. The process includes the steps of introducing a stream of feed water with sodium borate salt or calcium borate salt therein to an ion exchange vessel containing boron-selective resin modified with potassium sulfate or sodium sulfate. The feed water is reacted with the boron-selective resin modified with sodium sulfate or potassium sulfate. The ion exchange resin in the ion exchange vessel is periodically regenerated.
